I did not add Citizen, now did I? My response was to the poster who said Cruz was natural born. We are all natural born unless someone has perfected and accomplished the cloning of humans.
I am just so tired of the arguments on this issue. It is as clear as the founders thought it may have been necessary at the time in putting it into the Constitution, even excluding themselves from it because most, if not all, were born to British citizenship. They never envisioned that the tactics of “it depends what the meaning of is, is” would become an acceptable argument in the eyes of many of the intelligentsia today.
Do we go to SCOTUS now? Think of the recent comments of Cruz severely criticizing Roberts. Do you really want that to be any background for any Roberts Court decision?
Two IV League professors debated this recently and one actually said what is written in the Constitution has been superseded by laws written in Congress. Some professor who thinks that Congress can just write a law making the Constitution’s Articles null and void on a floor vote.
Geez, how far we have fallen.
The founders didn’t want Arnold Schwarzenegger to be President.
Ted Cruz is a natural born AMERICAN CITIZEN okay, he was born with US citizenship, whether you like or accept it or not that all the clause means. No one cares about your birther nonsense.
He’s just as American as your guy Trump. To imply otherwise is slanderous and doesn’t make me like Trump any better.
