he Communist Manifesto is the third-most popular assigned book in universities' syllabi, according to the Open Syllabus Project.

The Open Syllabus Project was made available to the public on January 22. It gathered over 1 million syllabi published on university websites, and set up a Syllabus Explorer to rank the frequency of assigned texts. The project's founders describe it as an "effort to make the intellectual judgment embedded in syllabi relevant to broader explorations of teaching, publishing and intellectual history."

Anyone who doubts that susceptible young people are having their minds poisoned at America's universities should read the article. Marxism is being shoved down these student's throats and while many will see it as fraudulent and evil, many will not.

Those young people will spend thousands of dollars of their parent's money or go deeply into debt to be indoctrinated in the most dishonest evil propaganda in the history of civilization.

Some will fall for the hate America, socialist, propaganda that is fed to them.

Those people graduate and become bitter $10 dollar an hour workers with no future. They will also become life long Democrats.

Only an ignorant person would be impressed with that work by Marx. It is an exercise in polemics.

How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin. - Ronald Reagan

But by then Mao’s “Little Red Book” will be big on campus and a certain set of tuition free people of ME origin will be studiously reading “Mein Kamph” looking for pointers while the bathe their feet.

Oh so very true. Pity we can’t manage to prove that to its adherents.

How ironic that Capitalism makes it possible to buy The Communist Manifesto.

Well, I made it a point to read Das Kapital and the Communist Manifesto when I was in college, but I did it in order to understand what we were fighting. They weren’t assigned texts.

Now, of course, it’s quite a different story.

I know a lot of very brilliant people who consider themselves Marxists. I just don’t understand.

All you have to do to destroy your faith in humanity is read the Communist Manifesto. It says right there in black and white that the Communists will need to institute a dictatorship, for some unspecified, open-ended period of time, before they can deliver on all the good stuff they promise in the rest of the book.

I realized when I read that, about 12 years old, that Communism was a fraud and a con game. Yet even though they basically openly admit it, most of the people who read the book simply don’t catch on.

they will become the ruling elite, that is why they espouse the ideology, imo.

We were assigned The Communist Manifesto, in a course on political philosophy that also assigned Aristotle's Politics, Locke's Second Treatise on Civil Government, Machiavelli's The Prince, and a few others I don't recall. That, of course, was not a required course, but one I happened to take out of interest in the matters covered.
