Most of them simply forwarded the message cnn put out.

Nothing wrong there.

If a campaign worker interpreted cnn story to say carson drppping and told voters, then maybe deal with that? Then again, even FOX NEWS said they thought he was dropping when when they got the same info.

That would be a reasonable theory if it actually happened that way, but it didn't.

Per verified reports (articles are in the sidebar now), all 1,500 Cruz Iowa precinct captains received two phone calls from the Cruz campaign, telling them to go with the story that Ben Carson was not going on to NH and SC, and that he was suspending his run.

All 1,500 were emphatically told to communicate this to the Carson supporters IN CAUCUS, to persuade them to vote for Cruz.

Team Cruz did this without first verifying the reports/rumors with Team Carson, as they should have. Instead, they saw an opening and ran with it, despite the questionable ethics involved.

Trust me, this is going to hang around Ted Cruz's neck like Watergate hung around Nixon's. It's going to define him, and there's nothing he'll be able to do to stop it.
