Yesterdayâs Boston Herald featured this endorsement in the New Hampshire GOP presidential primary.
A former U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey, [Chris] Christie knows something about being on the front lines of the ongoing war on terror.
(SNIP)
Not mean-spirited? Not hateful? Tell that to the young woman Christie sandblasted in a New Hampshire town hall meeting Monday night when she asked why he hadnât stayed in his home state a little longer to help the recovery effort from last weekendâs monster snowstorm.

Too abrasive without enough to balance out his aggressiveness.

He’s now a resident of New Hampshire. New Jerseyians haven’t seen him since before Hurricane Sandy.

They decided to endorse Christie before he made the "mop" comment. The timeline's not 100% clear to me, but my guess is the article was already written when he made the comment. In any event it would have been cutting it really close to throw out the whole endorsement if the comment was reported just hours before the papers had to be printed and delivered.
They're a good conservative paper considering what Boston is like. They weren't going to endorse Trump or Cruz. NH voters will go for Trump even without an endorsement, and no endorsement would get them to vote for Cruz. Of the remaining candidates -- Bush, Rubio, Christie, Kasic, Fiorina, Paul, Santorum, Huckabee -- Christie was a defensible choice at the time.

We’d better get mean spirited or else we’re gone. We keep pandering to the left, to the terrorists, to the communists and there will be no America, period.

Christie is an honest Obama-hugging fat cat RINO. Rubio is a closet RINO.

That makes sense -- an all-Demwit fake news outlet, supporting the villain of Bridgegate, sure, of course.

Doesn’t the Boston Herald hate conservatives? Why don’t they stick to what they know and ONLY pick a democrat? Why bother pretending? Makes no sense...
