Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is using video of former President Jimmy Carter against rival Donald Trump.

A new ad released Thursday quotes Carter, who said Wednesday that if he had to pick between the two, he "would choose Trump" over Cruz.

"Trump has proven already that he's completely malleable," Carter, a Democrat, continues in the clip. "I don't think he has any fixed opinions that he would really go to the White House and fight for. Ted Cruz is not malleable."

Sorry friend - under that mindset you would say Reagan embraced Tip O'Neill simply because he passed his budgets.

I understand that you can have people agree with you and that's a victory and that Reagan was the champion of that philosophy. Makes perfect sense.

Jimmy Carter is diametrically opposed to every thing a Conservative stands for. Having him embrace Trump because he feels Trump doesn't stand for anything is not a badge of honor, it's an anchor.

Not all endorsements are good ones.

But hey, you make some valid points.
