Ben Carson and his closest advisers are going nuclear against Ted Cruz and his campaign for spreading false rumors that he intended to drop out ahead of the Iowa caucuses.
Carson's close friend and adviser Armstrong Williams told The Hill in an interview on Wednesdaythat the Cruz campaign’s tactics were 'nasty, brutal and deceitful.'
'We've been told all along that Cruz's operatives play dirty and were capable of this stuff, but Dr. Carson never believed it, he felt like they had a respectable operation,' Williams said. 'Now we see firsthand that having integrity just doesn't matter to them. It's about honor and character, either you have it or you don'.t'
Williams said he's certain that Cruz knew the rumors about him dropping out were false but says the Texas Republican allowed his underlings to spread it anyway.
'He's a pure politician and will do anything to win,' Williams said. 'It doesn't matter who he does it to, friend or foe, whatever it takes to win. Cruz has been running as an outsider and calling Hillary Clinton dishonest. Well, Cruz is the one running without honor or integrity, and this shows he's just like everyone else inside-the-beltway.'
Carson has demanded Cruz fire those responsible for spreading the rumor, but Cruz has said he won't do that.
"After all the candidates worked so hard, and Dr. Ben Carson had a staff member lose his life working towards this day, to have someone like Cruz and his people deceive and spread falsehoods is unconscionable," Williams said.

Please explain why the Cruz people didn't do exactly that before spreading the rumor. Could it be that the Cruz people didn't care whether the rumor was true or not?
Was it 26% of Carson's votes? Because that's what it would take to make Cruz not the winner. And the lying Rubio shill Karl Rove is out there saying this is possible, a total lie.
If there was anything you could say to make 26% of a candidate's voters immediately switch to your side, it would be being done by everybody in every election.
If there was someone to provide the info to CNN, I would imagine there would be someone to provide the info to him. Or do you think CNN had no source when they reported it?
Everything I’ve read says they caucus prior to the vote but a majority had already made up their minds prior.
Meh, someday we’ll look back on this and it will all seem funny.
I don’t really mind that Ted did what he did. I don’t exactly like it, but good to know he’s a fighter. On the other hand, I think the others are perfectly within their bounds to counter attack on his possible ethical issues. That’s the game they’re playing.

Since the USSC has stated that citizens male and female have the same constitutional rights (and unlike laws rulings on the constitution are effectively retroactive or more accurately the court is saying that since 1789 it was always that way) your legal interpretations has no import.
You might bring up suffrage in 1920 and feel free to do so as the text of the Constitution (15th amendment) stated male before that the privilege of the franchise was defined by the states.
The CNN report was a leak from a Carson staffer. Carson never would’ve admitted he was dropping out before the vote took place if it was true. The idea that he would announce that in private to another campaign before going public with it is ludicrous. Never would’ve happened, ever.
Do you think Goldman really own him? Because of they do, electing Cruz could be an even bigger mistake than electing Obama. The BANKS with their hands on the levers of power, even more than they already do.

“Here is what I witnessed last night. I was a guest speaker on behalf of Ben Carson at the Caucus in Altoona at an elementary school and I spoke last night. My pro Carson speech included an introduction that I was from one state over in Wisconsin and that my family were Polish immigrants. After my speech was over the Ted Cruz spokesperson made their speech and closed with “By the way Ben Carson is dropping out of the raceâ€.
I got up and shouted “He’s lyingâ€.
Immediately after that…who walks in? CANDY CARSON! Ben Carson’s wife! She backed me up and said it was a lie! Ben was NOT dropping out and not to be deterred. The people then voted and Ben came in 2ND PLACE! Just 8 votes shy of first place.
While I was observing the vote count, the Cruz staffers told me, “Back up away from the table….you are in OUR state now….go back to Wisconsin you Dumb Pollock!â€â€¦.These are the kind of people that Cruz hires.
Remember a couple days before this Cruz sent out mailers to people sharing their neighbor’s voting records to shame & embarrass them and pressure them. Ted Cruz is a PHONY ladies and gentlemen. He campaigns as a “Conservative Christian†and spreads outright lies in order to steal a win illegitimately in an election.
Cruz campaigns as a “fierce protector of privacy rights†and then sends out mailers with people’s personal voting information to their neighbors, putting them in possible danger. Folks this guy is either a piece of garbage or a complete ignoramus. Take your pick. Either way he is NOT qualified to be the Republican nominee or President of the United States.
I hope the American people will realize this man doesn’t have what it takes to face Hillary Clinton in the general election or serve the people. How is he supposed to attack Hillary for being a liar, dishonest and untrustworthy when he HIMSELF is a liar?!

Quite to the contrary, as I’ve stated repeatedly, I have questions about every single one of the candidates, including Ted Cruz. What is patently clear is that Trump supporters, by and large, are willing to excuse Trump’s past positions and statements on anything and everything - even if those past positions and statements are as recent as yesterday.
And while I agree that the Carson story was at least premature and at the most dirty politics, it wasn’t illegal and didn’t even violate any party rules. On that note, it certainly wasn’t any dirtier than Trump calling Carson “pathologically diseased” and comparing him to a “pedophile”:
Bull that document does not define natural born citizen. It says “shall be considered as” “shall be consider as” is not the same as “are”. Going be original intent of our constitution there is not way in hell the the founders would have thought that Son of a Cuban born in Canada to an American mother is a natural born American citizen eligible to serve as POTUS. In fact the founders would not have even considered Cruz and American citizen.
Cruz took the CNN story and embellished it. CNN NEVER said Carson was out of the race.
Cruz lied.
