Donald Trump normally projects the image of a guy with only one gear: warp drive. But on today's Morning Joe, Trump made an interesting admission, saying that in Iowa, "I sort of went through the motions a little bit." According to Trump, he went less than flat-out in the Hawkeye State because he had been told he couldn't win, until a poll at the very end of the campaign indicated that he could.
Note: there was an odd moment at the very beginning of the phone interview. When Mika Brzezinski began by asking "let's talk about Iowa. What happened?" there was an awkward pause on Trump's end. "O-k-a-a-a-y," he eventually responded. The pause was so strange that Joe Scarborough asked "can you hear us?" Trump said he could hear fine, and the interview went on from there. So . . . was Trump distracted, or might he have been annoyed by Mika's entirely reasonable opening question focusing on his second-place finish in Iowa?

you are correct..
I’m expecting a tweetstorm followup...
interestingly, I attended a trump rally in my home town two weeks ago here in IA, and it was packed.
that said, the turnout for trump supporters across the state did not necessarily reflect the large rally turnouts.
maybe some that attended his rallys were more curious about his campaign, and wanted to see what all the hype is about, rather than actual supporters/voters.
dunno.
So, anytime President Cruz wants to do something illegal in the future, all he has to do is blame the staffers for using his Twitter account and putting his signature on the bottom of the letters; and that will make Ted Cruz all perfectly innocent as a newborn babe. I don’t think so. Thee is something in the armed services called command responsibility, in which the commander is responsible for the actions of his subordinates. If that is the best you’ve got, then any person, Cruz or otherwise, has no business setting foot into any command position, much less the White House and the Commander-in-Chief.
“Trump: In Iowa, ‘I Sort of Just Went Through the Motions’”
That’s crap Donald.
He threw everything he had into winning. He sucked all the oxygen out of the room and always had top billing in news stories.
He didn’t have to spend as much money; as he generated tons of attention for free.
No...there were hordes of “Christians” here who would not vote for a Mormon. I’m a Christian with common sense and because I feared and hated Obama, I voted for Romney despite my conviction he wasn’t the perfect guy for the job. Evangelicals seems to consistently cut their own throat. Cruz cannot win a general.
Cruz has a bad habit of blaming his subordinates. Not nice, not presidential.
Lovely! Hope he goes even nastier and MORE idiotic!!!
Trump has already said he didn’t do enough for Iowa. How is this news worthy?
Cruz spent more time in Iowa than Trump has in total campaigning. If he didn’t win it would be shocking.
Given Iowa’s recent record of picking candidates it’s Cruz who should be worried.
Interesting. Those committed Christians are going to find themselves living in squatter camps like the Afrikaans in South Africa and then they'll be converting either to Islam or practicing their religion underground.
Cruz issued an apology to Carson later on Tuesday calling the incident a “mistake.”
Cruz said in a statement Tuesday that his campaign staff saw a CNN report that Carson was dropping out, although CNN had not characterized Carson’s actions that way.

Some christian conservative values.
Trump touts Iowa ground game as caucuses near
âWeâve got such an incredible ground game,â he said.
We are all sinners and in need of forgiveness, but once forgiven the Bible directs us mostly to be on guard for assaults on the Church. Surely, misuse of scripture and hypocrisy damages the flock and drives away those who could be saved - indeed, these things are the devils works more than anything else.
As a Christian I have followed Cruz now for months and am more than a little concerned - Scamming Carson voters for an IA win is just the latest activity which tells me that if Cruz were to be judged solely on his actions - rather than his professed beliefs - no Christian would vote for him.
Yeah and he came in second, with Cruz only one delegate ahead. Pretty incredible ground game to me.
“Trump was simply NOT going to get the vote of the committed Christians. They do not vote for womanizers no matter how much they talk the talk. “
OK Christians , vote for Cruz who will lose to a REAL womanizer - Hillary !
He didn’t thank Ivanka on the stage...she ran his Iowa operation.
Look at it this way, they are a firewall against bad candidates. They rejected "Read my lips" Bush in 88. Rejected McCain in 2000 and 2008 and Romney (narrowly) in 2012.
“They do not vote for womanizers no matter how much they talk the talk. It is a question of conscience which many will never understand.”
Good thing they don’t come across as judgmental and superior.
Nice to see little Donny get the support of cousin IT (Ann vote for anyone with an R and don’t primary the rinos Coulter).
Oh and Scott (Mr. Pro-abortion pro-pervert marriage anti-second amendment can’t beat the fake indian Lizzy Borden Warren)Brown.
Way to court the milktoast Mitt Romney mushy McCain middle there MR. DONNY CONSERVATIVE.
It’s enough to make you wanna throw up on TV.
I'm pretty sure Trump understands hypocrisy fairly well...
Man when this year is over and Trump is elected, can't wait for you yobs to go back to the Religion Forum.
