It doesn’t matter if it “sounded like he was dropping”. If you go for that line then all bets are off because candidates can leave any news up to personal interpretation and use that line to sway voters at caucuses.
Cruz could have easily confirmed this before he went out to his people, easily. To think he didn’t jump because he was desperate is delusional.
