“... he said he’d drop out if he didn’t win the first couple primaries?”
I bet he never said a word about campaigning hard in Iowa for months and then drop out 2 hours before the caucus began. I doubt anyone in world history has pulled that one off.
“CNN said everybody knows that’s what you do if you’re about to drop out.”
I saw the CNN report and they did not say a word about him dropping out.
CNN is not empowered to speak for the Carson campaign.
“Where has Carson been campaigning this week?”
It looks like Carson wants to try to recapture the magic he encountered at the Prayer Breakfast, the same that got him started.
This episode cannot be explained away. It was dishonest and dirty, and I don’t really care if it is just politics. Cruz has put himself out as different, beyond the reach of foibles and temptations that plague the rest of us. He is a liar.
An IA caucus-goer commented on this thread that the Carson campaign had no energy in the state. He said the campaign was suspended after one of their IA staffers was killed in a car accident and the campaign had never been un-suspended, which contradicts the claims that he had been campaigning for 18? straight days and so he needed a clothes change.
The comment about dropping out if he didn’t win the first couple primaries was in an interview with Hannity, IIRC.

If you listen you will hear them say that Carson would not be going to NH or SC, and everybody knows that’s the behavior of somebody who’s about to quit.
So Carson’s “campaigning” is at a Prayer Breakfast in DC. And that “campaigning” is why he can call Cruz a liar for reiterating CNN’s report that he wasn’t going to campaign in NH and SC. Is that what you’re saying?
