"As I travel the country here in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, everyone knows what New York values are," Cruz told ABC News White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl minutes after delivering his victory speech. "It's the values of the elite liberals that have done enormous damage to New York and they're a bunch of cops and firemen and hardworking men and women in the great state of New York who are fed up with the out-of-touch values of Manhattan...

New York has 95 delegates.
Double down, Ted. Double down.
Cruz is crusin for a bruising in upcoming primaries. He can pump his chest out like Huck or Santorum but he’s done.

Very well said.
When that last(?) campaign ad of Cruz’s came out slamming Trumps “New York” values with Hillary, Bloomberg, abortion, “it’s not like Iowa”, etc. It took me a minute, but then I realized that Cruz set that all up in the debate.
Bring up “New York” values in the debate (and not even the latest debate) - but let it fester for a few weeks. Let Trump respond. Let the NY elite respond. Get all the news. Everyone is in a hubbub. Then run that ad right before Iowa.
Yes - New York Values.
FWIW, I looked up the youtube segment of Trump’s Veteran fundraiser in which, according to JoSixChip, an “Afghanistan war veteran” “reported” the story of “the guy” who fixed Trump’s flat tire etc etc.
It was actually Reverend Jerry Falwell, Jr. who “reported” (repeated) the paid mortgage story, again without any names or facts, while standing on stage next to Trump.
In exchange for Falwell’s previously announced endorsement, of course. You can google it; I can’t get the link to copy.
For an interesting comparison, here’s what happened when Trump tried to trade a free hotel room for the endorsement of an Iowa evangelical leader, and failed to get it. Accusations were hurled and denied; decide for yourself whom you believe:
