Boo yah! I love happy stories. Too bad none of these thugs assumed room temperature, though.

Be nice if all these type of incidents could be recorded and catalogued. I guess most of it would have to be self-reported if no shots were fired.

I've had two defensive uses of a firearm. One was where a purse snatcher literally ran right into my arms. Boyfriend wanted to get her, but as soon as I reached for my Glock 23 he backed off and left in his car. I didn't even have to remove it from its holster. The second was recently when two thugs tried to jimmy open the balcony slider of my motel room. I grabbed that same Glock 23, drew the curtains and took aim through the glass, with the barrel gently tapping the glass. Those thugs immediately vaulted over the railing and fled. Two defensive uses, no shots fired and neither will ever be known to the general public.

I'm no "news hound" nor am I a "reporter," "researcher," etc.
I consider myself just the average Joe-Six-Pack. For what ever reason, back in the end of year 2012, I started copying news article(s) about self-defense using a gun / rifle / shotgun, etc.
Started 11/15/2012. As of 2/17/14, 134 Saved by a Gun stories.
That's a lot of stories that I came across, via what ever I happened to be reading that day. Also I never did any searches for "use of a gun" on any day what so ever. The reason I guess, is because I'm just plain lazy.
So If someone was really motivated, I bet they could find a lot more stories.
I'd put this information under the "For What It's Worth Column."
