National Review's editor Rich Lowry is thrilled Donald Trump didn't win in Iowa on Monday, and he thinks January's special issue of the magazine, titled "Conservatives Against Trump," had something to do with it.
The conservative publication came out with an editorial and essays from 22 prominent conservatives, effectively declaring war on the Republican Party's poll leader just days before GOP primary voters cast their first ballots of the 2016 election cycle.
Lowry began by thanking those who had participated in the issue and other anti-Trump conservatives, like super PAC founder Katie Packer, just after Cruz's win was announced on Monday night via Twitter:

Thank you Lurkin - I’m glad to know I’m not alone in that reaction. It was revealing wasn’t it? Damn him.
Which part did I say? Forgive me, I’m not understanding your post. Thanks
This was posted by someone earlier today and very concisely summed up what occurred in Iowa.
Iowa was a three way tie. Cruz got 8 delegates, Trump 7 and Rubio got 7.
Cruz didn?t win, and Trump nor Rubio lost. It was a tie. And I see this as very reflective of the current state of the GOP.
Trump pulled roughly 1/3 of the GOP with mostly anti-establishment voters.
Cruz pulled roughly 1/3 with conservatives
Rubio pulled the establishment voters.
That’s how I see it.
But the winner was Rubio in the ‘who is the Establishment shill this time out’ race. He’s this year’s Romney. So he won big in that race.
Lol, thanks for the laugh! You might be on to something, nothing else makes a bit of sense.
That's what I heard early this morning on the Fox Business channel.
Rubio showed extremely well. Did better than anyone expected, etc, etc.
I heard nearly 5 minutes of discussion about the Iowa caucus outcome and NEVER once heard Trump's name mentioned.
Rich Lowrey was the guy on FNC Outnumbered yesterday - he was grinning like a fool and as soon as I saw him, I changed channels. Outnumbered is sometimes a decent show - don’t always watch it but I do like Harris Faulkner and Andrea T.
I used to read NR online - haven’t in sometime and probably won’t go back for a long time (if Trump wins the nomination I may step back in to see them eat crow and read their whining).
