How any female in America could support Donald Trump, the American version of former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, is beyond me.
Call me old school, but I have a real problem electing a man to public office who the Washington Post reported has a "Twitter feed and history of public comments" describing women as a "dog," "fat" and "disgusting." Even still, some conservatives give him a pass.
I know. We're electing a president, not a pastor. Or at least that's what we hear from certain evangelical leaders who think it's okay to endorse a "Biblically-illiterate strip club owner" who trades his wives in for newer models, as Freedom Outpost described in their January 27 column.
How about electing a president with principles, that is, assuming principles still matter?
Sure, presidents are just people who put their pants on one leg at a time like we do, but am I asking too much to have a president who has a history of keeping his pants on? Conservatives had a lot to say about Bill Clinton's improprieties when he was in office and they still do. In 1994, the LA Times reported the late evangelist Jerry Falwell, Sr. marketed a video "featuring an assortment of allegations involving President Clinton ranging from sexual misconduct to murder..." My, how far from the tree some have fallen.
Boasting about his sexual exploits with married women in his book "The Art of the Comeback," Trump bragged, "If I told the real stories of my experiences with women, often seemingly very happily married and important women, this book would be a guaranteed best-seller..." Trump's appeared on the Howard Stern show multiple times discussing his female conquests in a way that might even make Bill Clinton blush. Maybe.
It's odd that prominent evangelicals like Dr. Jerry Falwell, Jr. endorsed a man who once said he couldn't recall ever seeking God's forgiveness, saying he just tries "to make it right...I don't bring God into that picture..." It's amazing these leaders actually believe an unprincipled man who seems to have no problem breaking marital vows and brags about helping married women break theirs would keep his promise to be a defender of Christianity.
Trump's decision to not participate in the Fox News-Google debate simply because he believes he was treated unfairly by a female is troubling in that it displays how terribly self-involved he is and vindictive toward whomever he perceives as his "enemy." Narcissism is a huge character flaw conservatives notice in President Obama, but with Trump, not so much. America needs a leader who loves America more than he loves himself.
Given the recent evangelical Christian endorsements, it's starting to get lonely out there as a believer, but I cannot in good conscience endorse Trump - even if I am the last Christian standing. Yes, I will vote, because that's my duty as an American. But I cannot endorse a man who spent his lifetime supporting progressives and espousing just about everything I don't believe, while simultaneously gaming the political system to pad his wallet. I also have grave concerns about his mean-spirited, uncontrolled speech and relentless flip-flopping.
Of course, no candidate is perfect. But some are less flawed than others. Let us remember that "earthly" kings and presidents will always fall short. The longing we have inside for justice and righteousness will never be satisfied by looking at another human. So look up. Seek truth and don't allow anger to overcome reason or common sense.
Even as distasteful as a Trump Presidency is for me to consider, I am reminded that Jesus, who was known as a friend of sinners, would seek an audience with Donald Trump to remind him that there is a reason why it is easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than a rich man to find peace with God. If Trump found that peace, he might be unstoppable.
I am not trying to bash Trump, at all, but the author describes exactly what has bothered me so much during this early Primary season. Obviously, we are not electing a pastor, and no person is without fault. That doesn't bother me, but IMO there are better alternatives.
Ah yes the old “camel through the needle” adage.
A favorite of liberals along with “Judge Not”.
Nevermind the fact that perhaps the richest man in history has a Bible book named after him.

Trump has used up all of his passes.

Dear Friends,
I have really prayed about sending this email because I do not ever want to cause a rift in our group and do not want anyone to misunderstand my intent. I have not seen this reported on TV, printed news...but heard about it from another believer.
I wrote this email and waited. I wanted God to show me I was doing the right thing, after all we put our trust in God and not in any man. It is God who allows leaders to rule over us. Good or bad. I got my confirmation in today's reading of Leviticus. (Our church and bible study groups are reading through the bible in a year)
“If a person sins because he does not speak up when he hears a public charge to testify regarding something he has seen or learned about, he will be held responsible “ Leviticus 5:1
I wanted everyone to know what I recently learned about one of the republican presidential candidates. I included parts of articles and the link to that article so you can check it yourself. There are other articles by secular sites but chose Christian sites. Unfortunately while investigating the truth on this man I came upon a site that I saw more than I wanted to see of this man's wife, or more than anyone should see. I will not include that link. Beware, there is truth mixed with lies. I do not want lies to be told about this man, only truth.
I am not endorsing any candidate, only warning of one. If you're as concerned as I am about the direction this country is going, this man's leadership will rival Bill Clinton's’ personal actions. There are also political policies I disagree with, but it's the spiritual damage he will do to our country I am concerned about.
Feel free to be a Berean and double check me, but be cautious about what sites you open.
Love In Christ,
Linda
Remember Obama told people he was a Christian, yet his actions have been very anti-christian.
And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says âI know himâ but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:3-4
Christianity Today
This sort of political discourse is starting to affect how evangelicals talk about Trump. A notable exception is Russell Moore. He has consistently presented a line of argumentâand not just name calling. His major thesis is that Trump is immoral by Christian standards. This is a fact: from Trumpâs owning of strip clubs to his bragging about sleeping around to his Nietzsche-esque notions of power. Moore believes that a leaderâs moral behavior will affect his leadership, so he argues that no Christian should support a candidate like Trump. This will not convince all Christians, but at least itâs an argument grounded in the fact of Trumpâs moral behavior.
Charisma Magazine
âThe late Dr. Jerry Falwell Sr. would be rolling over in his grave if he knew the son who bore his name had endorsed the most immoral and ungodly man to ever run for President of the United States,â John Stemberger, president of Florida Family Action, said in a statement Monday. âTrump is a thrice married owner of casing with strip clubs and would give us the first âFirst Ladyâ who has proudly posed in the nude while supporting gay marriage and funding Planned Parenthood with taxpayer money.â
Unique in So Many Ways
Indeed, Trump would be like no president before him.
The first to be married three times, cheating on the first two (and probably the third).
The first whose wife appeared nude in a magazine.
The first to boast of his sexual proclivities, claiming to have had sexual relations with some of the “top women in the world.” (This is who Sarah Palin is supporting?)
He will be the first that has owned casinos with strip clubs.
To proudly proclaim that he will seek revenge against his personal enemies “as viciously and as violently as you can.”
His wife will be the first first lady that has posed for lesbian porn.
And with that last bullet in mind, do you really think for a minute that Trump opposes gay marriage?

Why Donald Trump Threatens to Trump the Gospel
Donald Trump talked about his Christian faith Saturday, but said he's never sought forgiveness for his sins.
The event is a gathering sponsored by several socially-conservative Christian organizations, including the Family Research Council, a socially conservative lobbying organization; Liberty University, the world's largest evangelical university; and the National Organization for Marriage, a group established to prevent the legalization of same-sex marriage.
Trump, who told CNN earlier that he is both anti-abortion and anti-same-sex marriage, said people are surprised to learn about his Christian faith.
“People are so shocked when they find ... out I am Protestant. I am Presbyterian. And I go to church and I love God and I love my church,” he said.
Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.
“I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so,” he said. “I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don't bring God into that picture. I don't.”

We looked at Trump’s record.

Rob Ford is a deranged drunk and a crack addict. She seems to know nothing about Trump to equate the two.

Trump is yesterday’s myth.
Rubio is their new myth.
Trump can be only described as a totally boorish adult, & still his twitters exposes his childishness.
I doubt that he can be corrected even going forth.
that means “Cuckhold husband”
Cheer up! There is hope for Trump.

I like that even better than my characterization of him as “skillful carnival barker”.
There is much that Donald does not yet understand.
Christians whose walk is actually progressing often discover that they were dealing with God before they knew that was the case. They might have called it something like conscience or “better sense” or a “good hypothesis.”
Us having all the theology right is much less important than God having it right, and that is a loyalty that sticks to a case that He has planned to finish through thick and thin.
My possibly inspired hunch here says “prevenient grace” if not a weak believer. I can relate to Donald’s story to date in some elements.
To do something like a presidency well, one has to have a good sense of “love your neighbor.” Here’s where we could do far worse than Donald. No excusing his current crude talk, but yet how does he walk?
The reproach at the end of the article about Donald as rich man seems unsatisfactory. The bible does not forbid such a state; it does enjoin those in it to not trust in their riches and to be generous and willing to share. In a sense all of us when we were unbelievers were “rich” in worldly things. It might be a small amount, it might be a large amount. Only God can perform the miracle needed, of shrinking one’s worldly richness to nothing, to get that camel through that needle’s eye.
The run for the presidency is a series of trials. Let us watch to see how the leading candidates react to them. We heard humble words from Donald last night at second place.
Are we even sure she’s a female?
Men and women think differently, we are wired that way. However, over the course of my (female) life, I have learned it is entirely possible for a woman to think like a man but it is not instinctive. I read once where men and women were asked a question and that is, where is your center, where are you, men would say in their heads, women would say in their hearts. However, all women have to do to change this, for practical matters only — not where family and friends are concerned — is to choose to have the center of their core in their heads, instead of the heart, and let your brain do the thinking, not your heart doing the feeling. When you do this, practical decisions as to whether to support a presidential candidate, are much easier. You will look at the candidate’s potential for good or evil, and not at his personality; thus it really does not matter if Trump is a boor, what matters is, can he fix this country? If you think he cannot, look elsewhere, if you think he can, and has the best chance of doing so, then vote for him. I hope if this woman cannot think anymore clearly than this, she will do this country no further harm, and just stay home!
God doubts that you can be corrected, at least while you take that attitude.
Trump says he'll DEFEND CHRISTIANITY. I don't need to give him an exam on eschatology or apologetics.
Interestingly, as I flipped on radio to wait for Rush a few minutes ago, Beck was reading some sort of parable about GHANDI. This juxtaposition, though coincidental to my composing this post, is telling.
Speaking for God now are ye?
“Donald Trump, the American version of former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, is beyond me. Call me old school, but...”
Nah, I’ll just call you an idiot, okay?
