I mean, 50% is not exactly a “solid bet” is it? I guess depends on what odds you’re getting.

NY Times is hoping for Trump, knowing full well that it is going to be Progressive-vs-Progressive matchup in the general election, which is a Win-Win for the Progressives.

This guy is just giving his prediction as one Op-Ed columnist...not the entire paper.

My guess that is a fairly accurate prediction.

All geaked up to elect someone promising universal health care and business as usual government buyoffs with big subsidies. Thank God we found a good conservative that will stop the growing government leviathon before it swallows us all up.

When Trump wins tonight...he will be a shoe-in for the nomination.

Current real money betting has Trump at 47%, Rubio 35%, Cruz 14% for nomination

Don’t know about Iowa, but Cruz is Texas toast for the GOP nomination. I’m surprised he’s even still third on the betting market for the entire primary.

FairBet.com, which handles more revenue than any other political betting site in the world, has roughly the same numbers as the “average.”

Wins GOP Nomination (not the Iowa Caucus)

Trump - 49.6
Rubio - 33.3
Cruz - 9.5
Bush - 5.7

As far as I know, “FairBet” works exactly like “InTrade” worked before it was shut down.

They sell you a $10 futures contract.

If you want Trump, the current price of that contract is $4.96 for each $10 contract, and there is no limit on the number of contracts you can buy.

If Trump wins the nomination, FairBet pays you $10. If Trump loses, your contract is worth zero, and FairBet keeps your $4.96.

Every time someone buys or sells a contract at FairBet, the price of the contract will change slightly.

So, if Trump wins Iowa tonight, the price of a $10 Trump Nomination contract will probably move up to about $6 or $7.

The media likes to play suppress-the-vote game. Don’t listen to the them, go caucus/vote. Don’t let the media imply that your vote won’t be needed. Put the political elites in a panic!

Our nominee might not be the one I think will be best for our country, but I know their nominee will definitely be the worst.

"Basing his opinion on PredictWise.com"

So the NYT lost Nate 538 (no great loss) and now relies on hearsay from a guy quoting a betting aggregate website. Does Carlos Slim have any real idea of how his investment is being F¢k#d away a dollar at a time?
