Microsoft's Bing technology has called Iowa for Hillary Clinton, a result that has not gone unnoticed amongst Bernie Sanders supporters given that an app created by Microsoft will help tally the vote during tonight's caucus.
Using, "data from polls, prediction markets, and anonymized and aggregated search-engine queries to predict its results," Microsoft forecasts that Hillary will win three out of the first four Democratic primaries, taking Iowa, South Carolina and Nevada, with Sanders taking New Hampshire.
Although the technology isn't perfect, Microsoft correctly predicted the outcome of the 2015 Academy Awards, the 'No' vote for Scottish independence, and the outcome of more than 95 percent of the 2014 U.S. midterm elections.
That track record is causing consternation amongst some Bernie Sanders supporters, who have pointed out a potential conflict of interest given that precinct officials will be using an app created by Microsoft to report caucus results.
Last week, Pete D'Alessandro, who is running Sanders' Iowa campaign, questioned the impartiality of the app, telling MSNBC, "You'd have to ask yourself why they'd want to give something like that away for free."
Some fear that hackers could penetrate the cloud network on which the app runs in order to skew the vote.
"Closed source technologies from companies like Microsoft could, in theory, contain backdoors or vulnerabilities that hackers and evildoers could exploit. Even worse, Microsoft or its employees could purposely alter voting software to influence outcomes," writes Brian Fagioli.
Both the Sanders and Clinton campaigns have built independent reporting systems based on the Microsoft app.
Microsoft has numerous ties to the Clintons, the most notable being Mark Penn, once described as Hillary's "pollster, chief strategist and message guru all wrapped into one."
Up until June last year, Penn was also Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Microsoft Corporation. In 2014, Penn created an ad campaign that Time's Laura Stampler speculated was a, "slick, subliminal and one-hundred percent free endorsement of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign."
Help dish up another commie to destroy the nation they hate!
We will, when the general election rolls around and Microsoft is "helping" to count those votes.
Socialist and communist ball
MS will tally both the Democrat and Republican precinct totals. The tool is an initial reporting tool, but I BELIEVE the precinct leader in each will keep a paper tally as back-up. Maybe even the “official” tally.
Didn’t Hillary’s cheating low life husband sue Microsoft BIG TIME? Guess a deal was made. And those FBI files always a question.
Just out of curiosity, what time should we actually expect the results to be announced? I have no access to cable TV news networks. I’m kinda relying on FR for the results.
The Caucii close at 7:00pm Pacific time.
So, expect results after 7pm my time. Excellent. Thanks, Mariner!
Iowa (February 1)
In Iowa, we expect a close race for both parties. Our models predict a win for Donald Trump (39.8% of the votes) over Ted Cruz (30.5%) for the GOP nomination, with Marco Rubio a distant third place (12.9% of the votes). On the Democratic side, we predict a tough battle for Hillary Clinton. Our models calculate that she will beat Bernie Sanders by a small margin (50.1% of the votes for Clinton vs. 46.8% for Sanders) (Table 1).
Winning over the Iowa Caucus can give a candidate a head start in the race for the final nomination, but there’s no guarantee he or she will get their party’s nod. In 2008, Barack Obama went on from his Iowa win to secure the Democratic Party’s nomination, while Mike Huckabee, who won the Republican caucuses, withdrew from the race a couple of months later.

New Hampshire (February 9)
Moving from the Midwest to the Northeast, the picture changes. The Bing algorithms have Donald Trump (39% of the votes) prevailing in the New Hampshire Republican primaries, ahead of Ted Cruz (13.1%), Marco Rubio (12.6%), and John Kasich (11.9%) vying closely for second place. On the Democratic side, we show Bernie Sanders winning 58.4% of the votes and beating Hillary Clinton in the state neighboring his home state of Vermont.

South Carolina (February 20 and 27)
We predict South Carolina Republicans will have Donald Trump win by a great margin with 44.3% of the votes, followed by Ted Cruz (22.6% of the votes) and Marco Rubio (14.7%). Their Democratic counterparts will probably pick Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders by a wide margin: 63.5% of the votes will go to Clinton (Table 3).

Nevada (February 20 and 23)
Trump is also predicted to win the Nevada GOP caucuses (39.6% of the votes), with Cruz coming second and Ben Carson as a close number three. The Silver State Democrats are likely to overwhelmingly prefer Hillary Clinton to Bernie Sanders (Table 4).

Once again we have the hint of pure democracy - no need to vote just use “data from polls, prediction markets, and anonymized and aggregated search-engine queries”.
This will make life easier when the body politic is due to be queried over some issue; certainly the younger generation will back this new idea as they have no use for a real democracy which they have been taught in school - one party, one ruler is all they require - and a lot of free stuff naturally.
Nothing matters except who counts the votes. Stalin was right about that.
Big deal with the communist Democrats! Who cares who wins this match between the lesbian and the Muscovite?
It’s the election this year that matters. Trump will win that and he’ll select the best of the best to help him get this bad taste out of our mouths.
Hillary will never get the bad taste of her bunkmate out of her diseased maw.
Will there be no President Hillary Clinton High Schools? Will there be no President Hillary Clinton Bridge?
How about a Hillary Clinton Sanitary Napkin Disposal?
"Awk, awk, cough, choke, gurgle, gurgle. Whew! Thought I'd never get that hair ball coughed out of my craw."
It is a Bill Gates site....what do you expect?
Bill was one of my clients a long time ago in Seattle before Microsoft went large....he was a outright lefttist then and has never changes....
Give a pinko billions and his allegiance is to Satan!
Most rich folks are statists, if not completely liberal.
They know their superior intelligence can tell us what is best for us.
Truth, Justice, and the American Way.
Some fear that hackers could penetrate the cloud network on which the app runs in order to skew the vote.
Oh how I wish Sanders’ folks would tap in and skew the votes for Sanders.
As for Microsoft, I’ve been saying for years that all of the big tech companies are run by the feds. I’ll never believe some little snot like Gates and Zuckerberg came up with Microsoft and Facebook.
