Most of the 500 wealthy conservatives gathered at a Southern California retreat this week know they want to see a Republican back in the White House, but many don't know what to do with the billionaire who wants to "make America great again."
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump was not at the biannual Charles and David Koch-organized conference over the weekend, but he was a constant presence on the minds of many here at the seminar hosted by the billionaire executives known for their active role in Republican politics.

While I am no fan of Trump. that ANYONE ever considered them Patriots is amazing to me.
Yep, the Americans for Prosperity organization has insinuated itself into the GOP and the Tea Party. Lots of money to push their agenda. They want to keep the free flow of exploitable labor going to keep wages low and profits high. The American worker be damned.
Exactly!! Club for Growth, FreedomWorks, AFP, etc infiltrated the TEA movement. Sad, but true.
Kevin McCullough belongs in your group!
An elite who probably hates Trump and Charles and David Koch equally... let's 'consider the source'"
I don't disagree. But the Koch group has a lot of money and the Republicans who have endeared themselves to the group appear to be strongly against Trump.
From the article:
“Another Koch-funded group, Concerned Women for America, has been actively speaking out against Trump. The organization even sent a letter to Iowa caucus-goers last week encouraging them to back “anyone but Trump.””
Trump needs to call in Carl Icahn. He is worth more than the Koch brothers.
TPA Ben sAsse is in the middle of this. Surprise, surprise.
>> Negative will not work against Trump, and that has been proven repeatedly.
Be careful not to over-generalize.
Two kinds of negative against Trump have been proven ineffective:
1) Negative ad hominem and innuendo
2) Attacking the conservative aspects of his message (e.g. “Trump is a heartless bastard because he wants to deport illegals and stop Muslim immigration”.)
However, negative attacks against Trump’s self-documented liberal positions (pro-ethanol, pro-Kelo, cozy with the Clintons and other democrats, etc.) as well as his waffling and “flip flops” as he carefully but noticeably moves towards the left might bear LOTS of fruit.
They’d better get on it pretty soon though, or the window of opportunity will close.
Trump has a few groups against him: all the networks in the country - all the newspapers in the country, Liberal elites, Conservative Elites, the DNC, the GOPe, Wall Street and even FoxNews. And yeah, probably the Koch brothers...
The goal of The Cheap Labor Express is not winning.
It is simply to prevent us from electing anyone who would stop them.
The Koch brothers have given lots of time and money to good causes. They generally give to Republicans. They are too liberal/libertarian for my taste, but I will not insult them for their participation and generosity. They still get only one vote each, just like the rest of us.
Those who hate them should try seeing what the past 40 years would have been like without them. They have long offered much needed balance to some of the big money on the left.
I guess Trump supporters now want taxpayer funded campaigns and/or campaign finance reform? I remember when real conservatives hung out here. It is fast become Trump-in-Wonderland. All of your dreams will come true so long as you stop dreaming conservative things. Dream of big government only with our own jerseys.
The number of remaining candidates who oppose open borders is very small. I am praying that one of those few will win - and that he will keep his word.
Absolutely correct.
By your standard we shouldn’t think too harshly of former General Benedict Arnold because he did lots of good things before he chose to be a traitor and try to sell America out to the British.
Thanks for playing.

AND HE IS STILL STANDING AND LEADING! WHAT do we need in America? LEADERSHIP!
Trump is a pig. And he may be smart but he sounds stupid.
Exactly! The Koch Brother helped The Tea Party be what it is today!
Well get ready for the “pig” as you say for the next 8 years.
I don’t see them as Benedict Arnold for not approving of Trump. Trump is a liberal. Regardless, tearing down everyone in your path just to promote a personality will leave you in a very vulnerable place.
If they go after Trump and succeed I will see them as heroes.

Biting off their noses to spite their faces. Trump has hired many women and placed them in great jobs. Why don’t they spend their pathetic fury on Clinton and his enabler, Hillary?
How many conservatives elected through our hard work and sacrifice have remained conservative once they reached Washington? Count them! We refuse to follow the same losing proposition any longer. We’ll take a chance on someone who loves America and knows how to get our economy back on track and our Military back to strength. To hell with the whiners leading a once free people by the nose. We WILL take America back from the NWO, or we will go down fighting to the last breath. America is in her last gasps right now.It is almost too late.
