They were probably carrying bibles.
One has to wonder these days why Americans would be in Saudi if not working in the oil sector.
Good for them.
Note to self: Cancel any planned vacays to saudi arabia.
Never thought of that. Good point. The religious police there.

:)
If they truly are terrorists then Saudi can keep them permanently.
I have not seen this report in any MSM-—print or TV.
Same info here:

[also AFP] https://news.yahoo.com/saudi-police-arrest-9-american-terror-suspects-report-004209108.html
And that might qualify them as terrorists...
yep staying away from Saudi Arabia...
The weird thing is that they are the main Exporters of terror, with their Madrasses spreading the Whabi violent doctrine all over the world! I wonder how and where they draw the darn line?!
and bacon.
Oops, Wahabi
The only way any arab sh*t-hole makes it to my bucket list is if I live ten or twenty thousand years. Even then... why?
Shia-Americans? Arabs or Persians brought in to this country by the Democrats and encitizenated and returning to the ME for real Islamic action or for training?
You stole my post.
The word is a transliteration of an Arabic name and in the original is written only with consonants. Its pronunciation and thus transliteration depends on local dialect and could be conceivable anything that includes the proper consonants in their proper order. Your error is just as correct as the more usual use.
They’re “Americans,” but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t Muslims and also that they aren’t foreign born immigrants or from an immigrant Muslim family. A lot of places will say “American (or whatever) nationality,” to indicate that the people in question simply have American citizenship but are not necessarily born and bred Americans.
That said, there’s an alarming number of young American males, both black and white, going into Islamic terrorism, so who knows what this report means? The Saudis, btw, don’t care about protecting the US or any other place, and simply want to hang onto power, which of course they would lose if ISIS or al Queda took over.
All possible. I question whether these Americans were “terrorists” of any stripe-—or whether they are negotiation pawns.
I am also surprised this hasn’t been discussed anywhere in the American press. No reporter/journalist asked the State Dept about this report?
