SUMMARY: We found a few Cruz folks that can be linked somehow to neocons, but we can’t point to any neocon positions that Cruz has taken.

Cruz has always been government. For Pete’s sake, he worked in the Bush administration.

He has many ties to all thoe people and if he won you would get about the same as the Bush admin.

The term ‘neocon’ has been bandied about so much and ztu k to so many different people that it has become completely meaningless.

Despite such public declarations, it's little wonder that a key member of the Cruz foreign policy team would support dragnet surveillance of Americans given that one of the principals of the Chertoff Group is General Michael Hayden, director of the NSA until 2005.

Congress passed the enabling legislation for that surveillance, iirc, after 2005, and with the acclamation of many on this site.

But that someone else was head of an agency that became a monster is Cruz's Fault, even though he wasn't in the Senate yet, and would not be for years to come?

Do I implicitly trust anyone who has made it far enough whatever food chain to run for President?

Well, in a word, no.

I do watch for direct statements of policy that will eliminate someone from my list of candidates considered, and I watch for direct actions of those candidates which indicate inconsistency and/or character flaws which might not be desirable.

I'm running out of candidates, but Cruz is still the best I have seen so far.

I’ll take Trump.

At least we know who they are.

Two who worked for the CIA? Snowden is a traitor?

Going back into Iraq? Defending the Nation...

Afraid of gov’t growth? Won’t they be doing the jobs allocated through the filter of the POTUS?

Rein in Washington...

Working in the Directorate of Operations, Central Intelligence Agency (1990, 1991 – 1993) is NOT CIA Director. When practically the first thing in the story is wrong, it makes one wonder what else is false.

"He should be prosecuted for treason. If convicted by a jury of his peers, he should be hanged by his neck until he is dead."

That's not just think-tank rhetoric, that's reign-of-terror-type talk.

Weird perspective this author has -- that punishing treason under existing law and through due process somehow equates to the unlawful and ad hoc processes of the Reign of Terror.

Elliot the liar Abrams... His lie about Newt, that he got Rush to read on Rush’s show, Thursday before the Florida primary is why I will no longer listen to Rush. No wonder Cruz thinks lying is perfectly acceptable...

Some of the other names have been amazingly silent over these past 7 years...

Con men are cons no matter how they dress.

Owned by banksters, crony capitalists and other globalists. It's in his past, it's in his wife's past---her entire employment career as Washington Bureaucrat and Senior Goldman Sachs executive. The poseur Cruz now is an act, something Cruz is good at: acting (remember his recitation, in character, of movie soliloquies?) Open borders, amnesty, 500,000 MORE H1-B visas (and that's just for now---these are the high paying American jobs), support for more trade agreements like the ones that got us in this position (agreements which make US exports impossible due to tariffs, and which open our borders freely to the exports of other countries with no tariffs.)

All I ask is that people remember the promises of the Republicans---EVERY ONE OF THEM---who ran for, and won, election in 2012: they promised that if given the Senate majority they would repeal Obamacare, seal the borders, override Obama executive actions, reduce spending, cut the deficit, and on and on. And EVERY PROMISE WAS A LIE. And Cruz was right in there with them. He lied. They all lied. Fire them all, don't promote them. Treat failed politicians like you'd treat failed employees if you owned a business. Get rid of them, all of them, hire a completely new team.

Don't forget Cruz's acting job on the Gang of 8 bill testimony and the so-called poison pills.

I don’t think “new ideas” means “outsider” or “no resume.”

I think it is hard to have new ideas without a solid grounding in the old ideas. This reminds me of Keynes observation that “practical men” often followed the ideas of long-dead and discredited economists.

Ted Cruz's Closest Counselors Are Neocons

I take it you mean "Jews." Yeah, there are at least a few in there. Smart people, and some are on the right side.

This seems a bizarre campaign. Do we have to remind ourselves that politics ain't beanbag and never was?

We all should be thanking God we have some plain-speaking, brilliant Constitutional conservatives like Cruz and an anti-PC gorilla like Trump on our side. This is what the 7th Cavalry looks like, folks. They might be rough around the edges, but that's the kind of toughness and sheer ego it takes to get the job done.

Don't complain. Enjoy it.
