Sure, Trump may make single-payer efficient while he’s in office, but what happens once he leaves? Aye, there’s the rub.
He won't even do that. Trump isn't going to have the same kind of control over the Federal bureaucracy he has in his own enterprises. Under Trump, waste, fraud and abuse might go from the current 10% to 9.9%.

That’s not even the rub—the rub is that he’s so not - grounded in the Constitution that he’d contemplate or enact more federal (unConstitutionl) top-down overreaching programs. But he knows really really great, great government planners, really the best and they like him a lot.
Trump is not for single payer. He is all about free market competition for health care and HSA accounts. The universal health care quote is the safety net for the indigent. It used to be charity hospitals now its medicaid. He wants to be sure people know that he’s not messing with the saftey net in place and will improve the way that works as well by increasing competition.
