Maybe there’s good news in this that it will show what a disaster this whole caucus system is. I can vote before I go to work and be sure my vote counts.

The advantage of the caucus is that it identifies the truly interested. You point out a big disadvantage of it.

Does anyone know this answer because it could predict outcome if there is truly a blizzard coming to Iowa.

When you arrive at the caucus location, can you simply walk in and vote for your candidate, then go home OR is this a long drawn-out event where you have to stay for hours?

Being a person who has experienced many severe snow storms AND a couple blizzards in Ohio, I would simply go vote and then go home and wait for the blizzard to be over. But if it is a long drawn-out event, I’d stay home.

Good. Sounds like it will wait for the cock eye to be finished but even so, it is Iowa in the Midwest, and this is what we practice for all year. A little snow isnt going to keep Trump voters home!

This is Iowa, not NY city. No problem for voters.

Snow late Monday after midnight

************

Timing can change some in the next 40 hours or so. And depending upon the
part of the state you’re in can impact your decision to attend a caucus.

“Breaking news: Trump hires fleet of 10,000 Jeeps and drivers, launches phone app to summon rides to caucus.”

That would be brilliant. I haven’t seen a story here yet.

The meeting is called to order at 7:00pm sharp. A permanent chair is elected. Most places this will take only a few minutes. A few speakers will then speak in behalf of their candidate. Then there is a secret printed ballot. First results might come as early as 7:30pm.

Newbies and some others will generally leave after the presidential preference vote, not even waiting for the result. Then the normal caucus business will proceed as it does in every other state.
