I do have evidence of the difference in the Cruz and Trump ground games....

Today I received a call from the Cruz campaign and reminding me of the Caucus on Monday and a very brief reason why I should vote for Ted Cruz. Pretty good as it was not too long and was informative.

Then I received a call from the Trump campaign. The volunteer calling was very nice, which surprised me. Based on the candidate and some of the posters I read here on FR I was expected her to call me stupid, fat ugly etc. She seemed nervous but was very nice. She told me my correct caucus location and asked if I was going. I assured her I was going and so was my wife. She said Oh great, two more.

She never asked who I was voting for so I assume to her that is two more in the Trump column, even though I am going to vote for Ted Cruz.

Since I have never missed a caucus I am called by every campaign multiple times a day/week. Congratulations to the Trump team ground game. I have now received as many calls from the Trump organization this entire campaign as I received from the Fiorina campaign TODAY. TWO calls.

Interesting ground report. I wonder if the callers are Iowans or out-of-state volunteers? It would be funny if the Cruz callers all had Texas accents and the Trump callers all had New York accents. Thanks for supporting Cruz. Not being from Iowa, I need all the surrogate voters on your end I can get.

I think this is an example of them having lists of possible voters for their candidate and just calling to remind them to vote without selling the candidate. Although that made more sense in the general election we were doing. You just call Republicans and tell them to vote. You don’t need to convince them to vote more McCain over Obama, hopefully.

That many phone calls would cause me to disconnect my phone.

Maybe she was more concerned about participation for participation's sake. Sometimes the "hard sell" becomes a turn off. Whenever I've done call bank and driving to the polls, I never expressed a thought about who to vote for - just go vote, vote your conscience.

...I am called by every campaign multiple times a day/week.

Someone has been is calling my cell phone like this for about two weeks now; but they NEVER leave a message...

I tell the wife; "If it's important; they'll leave a message."
