Ted Cruz helps his daughter with her math homework. He makes time for tea with his elderly mother. He remembers birthdays, brings his wife flowers, packs her suitcase even when he‘s tired.
Humanizing the candidate is supposed to be a campaign‘s building block, not its closing argument. But with just days until voting begins in the presidential race, Cruz is suddenly under siege. So the Texas Senator trotted out a special surrogate Friday to squash the storylines that may be blunting his momentum.
Without Trump onstage Thursday night, Cruz had his worst debate of the cycle. On Friday, he awoke to a blistering headline on the state‘s largest newspaperâRough Night for Cruz, blared the Des Moines Register, and fresh provocations from Trump, who has taken to calling "Canadian Ted" an "anchor baby." The lead Cruz enjoyed in the polls in December and January has evaporated. With just three days until the first votes in the presidential campaign are cast, a campaign that observers once saw as the prohibitive Iowa favorite is suddenly limping toward the finish line.

Oh, no! He’s henpecked, too! Jim Backus in an apron!
Maybe he’s a control freak.
“You don’t need to pack your hair dryer!”
Considering Ted received Canadian citizenship as well, he's an anchor baby.

I thought it was odd enough that Ted was saying Heidi was criticizing him for not getting their health insurance taken care of. I was already thinking Heidi must think she's some sort of princess.
Now it turns out Ted is saying "yes dear" when Heidi says "Hey Ted. Pack my suitcase after you get done helping the kids with their homework. And get me a sandwich."
Hey Nana! Hope all is well with you!
his mother didn’t sneak in..
That is not accurate. In this country before Obama everyone was supposed to follow the rule of law. People who came here illegally or have overstayed their visas need to leave now according to the law. If they come back legally they are no longer illegal. As a republic we need to have control of our borders and we need to enforce our existing laws.
My wife has been going to a Vietnamese “nail salon” for ten years. Each of her friends there had to wait for years, some of them in terrible conditions before they were able to come to this country. They are very offended that there are millions of people who have just ignored the rule of law and are here illegally.
The illegals need to go. All that needs to happen to get them to go is to start enforcing the laws that penalize those who hire them for anything. A few employers paying big fines and going to jail and the work for illegals will dry up and they will mostly leave on their own. It is not rocket science.
Isn’t it the truth? I’d feel sorry for the guy, but. . .
Very nice!
IMHO his supporters have been belligerent. I’d support Cruz if he had a chance, but he doesn’t.
Don’t take The Donald literally. He has quite a few positions he will be negotiating and dealing from on illegal immigration and building walls/fences all cross the Mexican border. Trump has made it clear where he stands on open borders and traitorous “free trade” deals such as the current TPP.
Just think of him as an enlightened rogue
Fireman15 you state the case for enforcing the immigration laws very effectively. Personally I find it amazing that anyone could disagree with you.
Trump has stated that he would put a “big, beautiful door” in the wall he proposes, and after deporting the illegals he would then bring “the good ones” back in. I understand that to be touchback amnesty.
Do you see it differently?
Because they are supporting Trump based upon emotion and not substance. They call Cruz “nasty” and spit the most virulent vitriol I’ve ever seen on FR. My own brother has been enchanted by the faux-Conservative Trump...never have I seen such illogical allegiance to an empty suit...wait, I remember 2008. It is appearing more likely that Trump supporters are going to get their wish and I will be first in line to shove it back on them when Trump proves to govern as the populist liberal that he is.
Why can’t his wife pack her suitcase? Does he mean pack as in carry to vehicle or pack as in putting in the clothes?
“They call Cruz ânastyâ”
Because nothing says Evangelical Christian like a shaming letter. LOL!
There’s no reasoning with you so I won’t even try. Of one thing I’m certain, if Trump wins his supporters will live to regret what they’ve wrought. The election of Trump will set back the Conservative movement for generations.
When, I saw that this was a Slime article, I figured it was bs.
Thanks for your reply. I did not waste any brain cells reading this swill.
