We are no longer playing political poker - the survival of our Republic is at stake ...
I don’t give a flying virgin’s chastity if Donald Trump slept with every broad on the planet - he’s the right MAN for the job ...
We cannot afford a simpering smarmy, whiny beta-boy in the Big Chair. Cruz is a wuss, in plain English. Oh, he’s got a big mouth alright, every bit as bombastic as is Trump’s ...
The difference is that Trump has a record of accomplishments longer than Cruz has been breathing air ... Cruz cannot hold a candle to Trump - and I think most Americans get that ...
We are not looking for a preacher; but rather we are looking for a General Patton - and Donald trump is as close as we are going to get. Trump wants to Make America Great Again ... Cruz wants to make America Puritanical again - no thanks, Ted.
“Actually, most GOP pols are Boy Scouts. Because discovery means losing elections. ...”
Now I know for certain that you are full of crap.
Right on. Character does not matter. They tried using that on Bill Clinton. /sarc
My point is that SoConPubbie incessantly annoys everyone with his favorite phrase which is typical of kindergarten children....constantly mocking. Mockery does not gain respect. He is entitled to his opinion of course, but mockery will not gain any points....at lest in my book. It only shows an infantile attitude.
And the “betrayed wife” still supports him! So was it really a betrayal?
Both his ex-wives still admire him and stand behind him.
That is very unusual. Normally hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. So all this talk of betrayal is hollow. Marriages do not last for ever for mere mortals. Adults grow apart, and it is better to separate than fight all the time.
His children from previous wives adore their father!
And all grew up to be responsible and hard working productive citizens. Donald was certainly a success as a father.
Finally the candidate running for president is nearing 70. He has been happily married to Melania for many years. I am not in the least worried about Donald misbehaving in the white house.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. Trump reminds me of Patton. He’s what we need.
Thank you for your additional comments Molly.
I can see where you are coming from.
Hope all is well with you. I’m going to pack it in for the night.
Take care.
“Trump knew this so he went and hid, like a coward!”
A coward, eh? Really?
That “coward” could smoke your sorry @$$, up one side and down the other - both physically and intellectually - without so much as breaking a sweat ... And Cruz could not fight his way out of a wet paper bag - as he quite convincingly displayed on last night’s debate.
Me too.
Trump. Women want him. Men want to be him.
D1: “It was being drafted as Bush’s policy, but it wasn’t necessarily Bush’s policy.”
SCP: “You don’t know that. It is an unprovable assumption.”
As is your own assumption, SCP.
The best way to resolve this, D.O., is to look at Cruz’ statements made before and after the date of this document. If Cruz made known similar position statements on these subjects, either before or after his role as Policy Adviser to GWB, then you have him dead to rights, and SCP has not a prayer in refuting your assertion.
I would agree with that.
Further, let me run this by you.
1. If this was guidence, it was bad. It would be misguided, anti States Rights, and a slap to the face of every Conservative in California, as well as the general populace who voted to deny illegal immigrants any services so they would got back home. And after all, isn’t this the Cruz plan today. We could have been 20 years ahead of the game if Proposition 187 had been respected and implemented.
Bush and Cruz were addressing it five years after it died because the attorney general and governor of California refused to appeal the 9th Circuit Court’s ruling.
That was an affront to the people of California. We were bitter about it, and then to learn of this, it just pissed me off to see Prop 187 talked about in this manner.
2. Then if Cruz is just polishing Bush’s policy off, isn’t he just playing along to get along? It means he had not standards of his own that told him it was wrong to trash the bill and the people of California.
I could not have worked for Bush in that capacity, due to a very strong disagreement on policy.
Ted was okay with it.
When Bush was telegraphing his policy on fixing the illegal alien problem, I was thinking at the time, I wish I had his ear so I could explain this issue to him.
Here was Ted with that ear, and playing along instead of advising sound policy.
It sticks in my craw to this day, the failure to implement Proposition 187, and those who trashed it after we got it passed.
And people wonder why this state is so Leftist.
It is because idiots within earshot of our leaders have no backbone.
And Bill got elected TWICE to the office. Character matters - but, when your in a fox hole and artillery is landing all around you, your not concerned about whether the guy next to you is a pious saint ... Your thoughts are along the line of are we gonna get out of this hole alive?
Remember this: there are no atheists in a fox hole, but neither are their any saints - there are only live heroes, or dead ones ... And it is not all “a matter of luck” ... It comes down many times to who is the better soldier. Cruz is a frigging private, bucking for promotion to general ... Trump IS a five-star general - an SOB for sure, but he’s an SOB that knows how to fight the damned enemy ... And THAT is all that matters when your in a fox hole and the enemy is getting ready to overrun your position.
What it proves is that Ted Cruz is a career opportunist - AKA, a politician, every bit as covetous and conniving for power and prestige as are the worst of his contemporaries ... AND this is what my gut instinct tells me too.
I have this nagging impression of insincerity whenever Cruz speaks on any issue - and that sense is further bolstered by the patronizing way in which he speaks “down his nose” to others he believes inferior to his intellect ...
THAT is an important character distinction to note between Cruz and Trump. Cruz lectures at you, while Trump speaks with you, as in having a conversation.
Everything about Cruz, from his speech patterns to his gestures, seems disingenuous and rehearsed. He reminds me very much of the smarmy patronizing character who was Eddie Haskell, from ‘Leave it to Beaver’ ...
Crusz acts like the teacher’s pet or the neighborhood tattle tale. He’s behaves like the little snitch, who always is looking for an opportunity to ingratiate himself to mommy dearest.
In short, Cruz makes my skin crawl ... And I am certain he has the same effect on many others. Trump is no boy scout, but at least I can clearly see what his past and present positions are - and I trust that he has grown into a more conservative posture as his life experience has changed him. OTOH, Ted Cruz is like driving through a fog - one minute its clear and the next not so much. You are never sure of the boundaries - of where the lines of demarcation truly exist. Your driving along the straight and narrow - and suddenly the road curves.
No doubt the Texas junior senator thinks himself quite the crafty intellectual in his “geometric logic” (to quote Captain Queeg). No doubt he also believes that his brinkmanship, in appearing to support both sides of an issue, will flummox the opposition ... But I am beginning to see that Senator Cruz may actually fall into that class of individuals who are “educated beyond their intelligence” - AKA: being too smart for their own good.
I think we’re both on the same page.
He is too clever by half for me.
There is something I can’t quite put my finger on, and perhaps you’ve touched on it.
I’m tired, so I’ll leave it at that.
Thanks for the response.

Sadly, far from the truth.
Since when?
I am an evangelical Christian, and I support Trump. I know he is a sinner, as I am. He is not my Messiah, that is Jesus.
What this nation needs is someone to cut through all the deadly Poltical Correctness, all the cozy Washington DC betrayal, and the lies.
We have given the Rinos the House and the Senate, and they have done nothing to stop the poison of Obama and his agents of Evil.
What am I going to do? Support Mark Rubio, who just solidified his support for not deporting Illegal Invaders who come here to rape, steal, and murder?
The way they did when the Democrats nominated Bill Clinton, who served just one term and was impeached, convicted and sent to prison for perjury.
Oh wait, that was in the Bizarro World. Here on Earth the United States is - like it or not - a country that pretty much accepts divorce and (some) infidelity.
Interesting question - if serial infidelity and multiple marriages were lethal to Newt Gingrich's campaign why isn't it hurting Trump?
Because Trump is THE MAN. Newt is a creep. Don't see the difference? Exactly. Cruz exists in the same evangelical bubble divorced from the broader culture.
Oh, and because Trump is THE MAN he'll garner at least 25% of the black vote and win in a popular vote landslide.
