So, do you think that for just general internet surfing, Chrome would work OK?
Do I need to reinstall Flash after I install Chrome?
Is Chrome free? I'm cheap but I'll pay for a reliable browser.

Chrome is free. If Flash would be needed it will tell you when you try to open a video or video stream.
