Ted Cruz: He was a bit prickly at the start (and then had his attempt at a joke interrupted in an inopportune way by the crowd and Chris Wallace) but gave a series of very strong answers as the debate progressed, had a good closing, and had a good night. He gave compelling answers on ethanol, why he's not a favorite of Washington politicians, and--especially--immigration. As the polling leader among those who weren't AWOL, he was under fire--both from the other candidates and the moderators-more than anyone else on the stage, but that cut both ways: He was front and center, he got a lot of speaking time, and the debate both began and ended with him. well I tuned Jeb! out. Glad you were able to listen to him. Hope you reward yourself this weekend for that!!!
I have not seen any pictures of 20,000 people attending a Cruz event. I have for Trump and Bernie. I mean heck last night people waited 12 hours to get into a trump event with 24 hours notice. I am not sure I have seen anything like that with Cruz. Now I will give you that he can go into a restaurant and talk to people and they may show up at the caucus and that is good for Cruz, but Trump has the same leader who won the caucus to Santorum and Huckabee. So bottom line Monday night we have no idea who is going to win the caucus. I do think it will be either Trump, Rubio or Cruz and actually the top 3 will be those most likely.
Jeb reinforced Megyn’s hits of Rubio, and Marco handled both poorly. Marco’s only getting decent reviews because his Press Secretary is playing all her media family cards. Anyone who watched with an open mind saw Marco take on a lot of water. Meanwhile, without Donald to cower from, Jeb actually looked alive, nearly as energetic as Carson. Of course he still said you go to the FBI for subpoenas. No one with a brain would vote for him. But he might have won a few GOPe votes from Rubio.
