Don’t Worry, Jeff Sessions, Trump Will Still Respect You in the Morning
RedState ^ | January 28th, 2016 | By: Leon H. Wolf

Posted on 01/29/2016 1:56:03 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Jeff Sessions has never really been accused of being the brightest person in the Senate, but if you are someone who values a strong fighter against illegal immigration, then Sessions has been a valuable fighter for your issues. Now, in spite of years of fighting alongside Ted Cruz, whose efforts to defeat amnesty Sessions has repeatedly praised, Sessions appears set to endorse Donald Trump.

This news comes after Trump has spent the last week turning his back on everything he stood for at the beginning of his campaign, specifically promising to cut deals with Pelosi and Schumer, and admitting that he really only plans to wall off “about 1000″ miles of the U.S. border since the other 1000 has natural barriers – in other words, the exact same amount of wall that is supposed to already exist under United States law.

It would not suprise me at all if Jeff Sessions was on Trumps shortlist as a VP pick.

SPECTACULAR NEWS!!!

If TRUMP just *must* have a pol’ as a VP, I have had the TRUMP-SESSIONS ticket in mind from nearly the beginning.

Contrary to wounded lapping RS’s nagging assessment of Sessions intellect, Sessions has acted as the sage of the senate on the issues that matter to me, with his research team, especially on matters of TPP and the Border Invasion.

Opposite of showy behavior Sessions has kept his head down and carries no real baggage.

Sessions already had sent his right hand man to TRUMP, from his senate research team, so the writing was on the wall.

Sessions also remains in good stead with his more UniParty water carriers for Obama, just by NOT endorsing their showy nemesis from Texas.

Red State has to be in the dumps and as with the Palin endorsement with them, it shows.

It won’t be long before Salem sends this turd Wolf down the path, he’s damaging their brand with his nonsense and vitriol.

They’ll also take a hit after Trump wins and these posts diminish, because FR has a higher Alexa ranking than RedState.

I don't think Phyllis could be paid off. I think she is just frightened by the future and all the work she has done, somehow it looks like it all could easily be laid waste.

She has fought the Establishment longer than most of us living today.

I am going to give her a pass. At 91 she deserves it.

I’m a Ted Cruz first kind of guy, but I’m wondering who this Wolf guy is as well. Must have some hellacious sources or a very active imagination...

All I will say is that it would be pretty startling if Sessions endorses Trump before the Primary election has concluded.

Yesterday Wolf said Trump paid off Phyllis Schlafly. Despicable

Not only despicable but a despicable liar, Phyllis Schlafly can't be bought.

I’m still waiting for that one Trump supporter that can explain how he gets that big beautiful wall built with the big beautiful (swinging) door. See there is something called Congress and appropriations. And about the time that bill goes through it’ll be over 6 years before those opposed are booted from Congress (if they are at all). Even if successful booting those opposed year 7 will be spent appropriating the funds and planning with year 8 and beyond fighting every bit of litigation through the courts until you guessed it a new President.

How again does he get that wall built again?

Jeff told Howie Carr that he probablly won’t endorse.

He was most worried immediately about the TPP.

I know a surefire way it WON'T get built. When you can't muster any political will to do anything because "man, that sounds really hard, let's just not bother trying."

You mean as Cruz did in Wisconsin, before he ever announced his intentions to run? Or, his $200,000.00 to McConnell while serving as Vice-Chairman of the NRSC, to funnel money into Mississippi to defeat the Tea Party conservative who was leading that race? He went down to the mule of the senate, Thad Cochran, with that slush fund to Haley Barbour and the boys to unleash the “Mississippi Treatment”.

Cruz has had his own PAC’s and connections cashing the flow to attempt to buy his own favors, in states particularly that he would need for delegates.

This is nothing new, actually.

Saw an article about that the other day detailing how Mexico would pay for it. Don’t remember the title, but it’s here somewhere.

By going to the people and asking them to support it.

By the very fact he has been elected, they will have voiced their approval.

Congress will have two options.

1. they comply with “the people’s” wishes and help Trump

2. they defy the people and get primaried in two, four, or six years.

We would get a shot at swapping out every Republican in the House and one third of every Republican in the Senate in just two years.

If these folks think their phone’s won’t glow by the time the public is done if they fight Trump, they better think again.

What a bunch of crap. Jeff Sessions has been a leader on the immigration issue long before Cruz entered the Senate. I have worked with his office for over 9 years on the issue.

The rumor is that Sessions is about to endorse Trump. It would be devastating for Cruz, even worse than the Palin endorsement. It is the reason why this guy wrote a hit piece on Sessions, the best Senator by far.

Everyone knows Red State hates Trump, but there is no need to denigrate a fine man like Sessions.

Probably not, but it doesn’t stop Sessions from praising Trump’s plan:

Trump was not a politician until 2015 and Cruz not until 2012. Before that Cruz was a college professor and Donald Trump was a Manhattan real estate businessman.

I understand the concerns about Trump's previous positions, but you have to understand where he was doing business. If Trump would have taken the stance he does today back in 2013, then he would have never been able to do business in New York. After all New York is a very liberal city. Moreover, the people who are very close to Trump and have known for years. They all say what the public is seeing is the REAL Donald Trump, and not the businessman. Trump was a businessman and had to play the game. I understand that.

However, since Red State is looking at the past and associations.

Why is Heidi Cruz service as Deputy Nation Security Adviser to Condoleezza Rice missing on the Wikipedia web page? Why is her service to Deputy Trade Director to Robert Zoellick handling China specifically. Why is that missing that missing from her Resume? We know she works at Goldman Sachs. We know she is a member on the Globalist group Console of Foreign Relations. We now know that Ted Cruz got sweetheart secret loans from crony capitalist poster child Goldman Sachs and Citibank, and this guy is going to reform Washington DC?

My biggest concern is the following scenario. I just have a bad feeling that the Establishment will back Ted Cruz to knock off Trump, and then via the DNC and GOPe will shop a federal judge to disqualify Cruz since he was born in Canada. Then later will insert either Jeb, Rubio or even Romney via the convention through the delegate process. The Wall Street Journal was talking about doing this 3 days ago. Here is the article.

He can shift money around like Obama. He can call it maintenance of the wall. The Secure Fence Act of 2006 is still law.

Actually, I believe he intends to increase various fees for Mexico doing business in the US and also tariffs.
