Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll (R-25) thinks that Ted Cruz is the “right combination of philosophy and experience” to become the next president of the United States.
-snip-
“I think Ted Cruz is going to win in Iowa,” Carroll said. “If that happens and Trump sort of flames out—remember he is much more popular among people that are not traditional republicans and not very popular among many conservatives though there are exceptions—and Cruz is perceived as the frontrunner, the so-called establishment might turn to one of the Governors whether that is Bush or Kasich. Right now if seems like Kasich is the choice, but if he doesn’t catch on, Chris might.”
Carroll believes that Trump has reached his “maximum support” from Republicans.
“I think if he doesn’t do as well as someone else, the party will coalesce around someone else,” Carroll said of Trump. “I hope that someone is Ted Cruz, myself.”
Carroll spoke with PolitickerNJ after his participation on a legislative panel at the New Jersey School Choice Summit, a summit focused on bringing educators and legislatures together to discuss the merits of giving parents and kids throughout the state alternative choices for education. On that panel, he was joined by state Senator Tom Kean Jr. (R-21) and Assemblyman Gary Schaer (D-36).

“Why would you think posting the thoughts of an obscure Assemblyman from NJ about the Iowa caucuses is relevant or pertinent to discussion on this forum?”
Because any nobody the Cruz people can dig up to say Cruz will win is something they think will make it so.
Do you believe Mexicoâs gonna buy us a wall?

No. Why?
No.
Most of us wouldn’t care, because we aren’t looking for validation from no-name and obscure people in government.
Unfortunately for your theory, no. If we were talking about the NJ primary, then yes. There is no relevant reason to post the link w/r/t Iowa.
The Donald promised he would make the do that.
Are you projecting again?
‘Cuz they know all the Real Bookies.
Yes, because I’ve actually taken time to listen and learn.
You folks should give that a try.
Start with Ted’s actual history.
The Donald promised he would make the do that.

Well, Donald’s suggestion was ridiculous.
Grubered again.
As do I, but those aren’t based on fantasy.
Thanks for the video.
Yes, because nobody but you Trump supporters have taken the time to listen and learn.
I thought according to Trump supporters that history was unimportant. Whenever things are pointed out that Trump has said and down, we’re told well that was 6 years ago, or 6 months ago or 6 days ago so we must ignore it. It what he says today or tomorrow that we must listen to.
I think you need to start with Trump’s actual history both professionally and personally.
I know. But they are lessons in overcoming all odds and appearances.
Which just goes to show opinions are like Aholes. Everyone has one. LOL!
Do you know that when Ted offered up the “Doubling of the legal yearly immigration” and “the raising the yearly H1-Bs to 500% of it’s then current level”, it was in a sub-committe?
Do you realize that sub-committee had a majority of Republicans sitting on it.
Ted couldn’t even convince his own people to join him there.
IMO, that’s the story of Ted. Not enough people are compelled to line up with him.
If the story of prevailing against all odds and appearances was God driven, then Ted would have convinced his fellow Republicans to go with him. He didn’t.
I’m sorry, but your premise seems to come up short.
Just because many so called conservatives that WE elected did not keep their word, does not discount the fact that Ted kept his.
The odds are against him and he just keeps going. I find that admirable.
