With all due respect, is it not possible that Trump's persona is just that... and that he is really a very down to earth person?

His persona, lots of hype, hurling insults, etc., is kind of a New York thing. Remember, you ought to take into account that some of these people, Trump included, have been brought up in an environment where it is a little more rough-and-tumble than others.

In other words, if Trump is such a jerk, why do New Yorkers like him so much, even the Rats?

My thinking is this: Trump will pick Cruz as VP. Trump may tire of POTUS after one term, because of his age. Maybe not. Cruz will keep Trump in line and keep conservatives happy about Trump. Trump will groom Cruz and vice versa. Trump-Cruz will be one or two terms, hopefully two. Either way Cruz will have made such a good impression on the voters that he will be a shoo-in for POTUS when his time comes.

Please consider that scenario.

I am hoping for it. The country could do a lot of healing in 12 or 16 years (or even 8) of Trump-Cruz or some permutation of that.

Someone posted this link to me:

If Trump’s persona was just a public display, why would he leave that private phone message?
