I might have a round or responses to the question, followed by a round of rebuttals to the statements made by other candidates, but it’s the same approach as yours. Give each candidate the same amount of time, give all candidates big questions, and let them express themselves on the issues and then respond directly to each other. That should be it for the debates.
Have the candidates in sound proof booths with an audio video link to the outside
Ask each candidate the same three questions - but no candidate know what the questions are
Ask each candidate one unique question
They have three minutes to answer the joint questions and 5 minutes to answer the unique question
At the end of three minutes cut the mike.
Then post the answers on a commercialized You Tube channel
