Just who is Donald J. Trump's Prince, and why has he come now to buy into the Plaza Hotel?
Prince Walid bin Talal is the Saudi ruling family's most prominent -- and most adventurous -- international investor, with large stakes in Citicorp, Four Seasons Hotels, Fairmont Hotels, Euro Disney and Saks Fifth Avenue, which is controlled by Investcorp of Bahrain.

This is not the first time that the Prince has picked up one of Mr. Trump's prize assets: the Prince's luxury yacht was previously owned by Mr. Trump.
Under the agreement announced yesterday, Mr. Trump will lose his 51 percent control of the Plaza hotel, but the Prince and CDL will pay part, or all, of Mr. Trump's $300 million mortgage on the hotel, guarantee interest payments on Mr. Trump's Plaza debt and spend $28 million to renovate part of the hotel, turning some top floors into expensive condominiums. Bank creditors, meanwhile, will forgive $125 million of Mr. Trump's debt."
So Trump needs breathing room with creditors, I see. With Trump’s ego, I cannot see him being happy about giving up his majority stake.
Maybe Trump is not as independent as his supporters here think. Sounds like he might have some markers out, and a Saudi Prince just might have one in his pocket.
And a $125MM bailout from some banks, to boot. Yeah, none of these groups will have the audacity to call a President Trump and remind him of this little deal in the future.
The early 90s were a rough time for The Donald, but he bounced back brilliantly.
Who waits 20 years to collect on a loan? lols.
yes the Saudis helped Trump bounce back fiscally
All of them? The whole country?
also notice the involvement of Banks to help out Trump. Now Banks own you if you get a loan from them and pay them back
Guess we need to ask Trump how many Saudis helped him stay a float fiscally
Here’s how it’s always worked:
If you owe the bank $100,000, you have a problem.
If you owe the bank $1,000,000, THEY have a problem.
So you’re just throwing it out there with nothing to back it up? Figured as much.
So if a Saudi(s) gives ones company billions does that Saudi(s) own you or do you own the Saudi(s).
The article said nothing about a billion, so we are drifting even further into hypotheticals.
It’s like Soros bailing him out with the GM Building.
Guys like Trump are owned by the real money men like Soros who’s bailed his still out more than once.
He’s most independent in his career as a professional celebrity, an old male Kardashian sister.
ah you wanna focus on the unknown not the known. I feel your pain. The known makes Trump’s claim he’s owned by no one suspect.
I feel your pain. A billionaire who got help from the banks and the Saudi(S) hurts the impression that he’s an outsider, a billionaire common man...is ok...I do feel your pain!!
Interesting games going on...
