Depending one’s point of view, Trump's decision to skip the debate was either very bold or very disrespectful to the voters who believe in the debates.

I'd put good money on the fact that neither would have attended Trump's rally if they were at the Big Boys’ table. It would have alienated too many of their supporters.

IMHO, deciding to attend the Trump's rally should have been made in that context because it tells me they stand on principle, regardless of how noble and important a cause.

But they chose to have their cake and eat it too. There will be no blowback from skipping the RNC debate. Trump can now claim the others candidates do not care about vets, only 2 cared enough to raise money for them. Santorum and Huckabee handed Trump another talking point.

Just my opinion, one which is not worth a cup of coffee.
