The latest person to find themselves in the crosshairs of Donald Trump’s twitter act is prominent Iowa evangelical Bob Vander Plaats. The specific accusation that Trump leveled against Vander Plaats is that Vander Plaats asked for $100K to arrange for Trump to come speak at an Iowa event that he, generously, was willing to do. Vander Plaats’ response was that it was Trump, in fact, who was paid the massive speaking fee, and that he (Vander Plaats) got nothing.
As you find more often than not when Trump calls someone else a liar, the facts demonstrate that in fact it is Trump who is telling a bald faced lie. The Des Moines Register asked the event hosts to look at any documents they had for the event, and the company complied:
Records & company officials confirm @bobvanderplaats is correct – Trump charged $100k for appearance in Iowa last yr https://t.co/1eMUgAn4vj - Jennifer Jacobs (@JenniferJJacobs) January 26, 2016 |
Peoples Co. paid Trump $100,000 to speak at Land Investment Expo in Iowa in Jan 2015. Was Bob Vander Plaats’ idea, but he got no $ in return - Jennifer Jacobs (@JenniferJJacobs) January 26, 2016 |
This confirms that Vander Plaats was being 100% truthful – that he set up the meeting as a way for Trump to introduce himself to Iowa voters, and got paid absolutely nothing. His thanks for having done this favor (and earned Trump a hefty speaking fee) is for Trump to lie about him on Twitter.
It’s bad enough that Trump is a fake conservative and that he constantly says ridiculous things that are damaging the GOP brand forever. It’s bad enough that he constantly covers for Hillary every time she has a bad news cycle. He’s also a terrible person and a pathological liar.
.
You don’t smell right!
Trump is a swindler just like his idols the Clintons.
Don’t trust Van Der Putz. I had issues with him on prior campaigns. Not a man of his word.
.
>> “What is your point concerning a poster who spends his days, all day every day, posting the same old crap?” <<
.
Obviously you’re going to keep on posting your crap.
.
You FR Cruzers better get on your knees and pray that your guy wins Iowa.
This is a new story to me. Is it an old story to you?
What is the point of FR again? Oh, yea, to share articles that are of concern to conservatives.
What are conservatives doing right now? That’s right, they are picking a Presidential candidate.
I gather that you’ve made up you mind and are not open to any new information. Fine, then skip the article, but stop complaining that people are being unkind to your hero.
Trump is above the truth, just ask Donald Trump.
Too many German people thought they needed Hitler. too!
.
Most of the country is praying for Cruz’ victory in November.
We’ll know then if God has abandoned us, and turned us over to the Clinton’s lap dog.
—or gives money to Planned Parenthood to sell baby parts
—or gives donations to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid
—or supports a single payer Affordable Care Act
—or praises Barack Obama
—ETC, ETC
I’m gonna vote for him!

Remember also, Trump does not feel the need to ask for forgiveness because he views himself as above needing forgiveness.
.
Donnie doesn’t even have to confess his sins.
This isn’t about what Red State wrote. Go to their source. I usually do because I loathe Erik Ericson.
It is from the Des Moines Register, an article most in Iowa will read.
Another instance of Trump taking to Twitter to demean someone who did not bend to his will. He lied saying Vaander Plaats tried to charge the organizers for 100,000 for Vaander Plaat, when the truth was it was Trump’s fee. A bad guy.
Trump did not just lie and demeaned a man. He lied to the anyone and everyone from Twiiter. He does it with impunity because “everyone loves me.”
Why are we suddenly okay with Trump’s version of “it depends on what is, is?”
Isara is doing what all desperate people do. Throw Sxxx on the wall hoping something will stick.
Exactly .. desperation makes people do foolish things ..like trying to turn FR into Redstate
I have yet to post an article pro or con for any candidate this season.
You can go back to your room now.
last time in iowa...
DAVENPORT, Iowa - An Iowa Christian conservative leader who bestowed his highly sought-after endorsement on presidential candidate Rick Santorum this week is now at the center of a controversy over whether he asked for cash in exchange for his public support.
Less than 48-hours after receiving the backing of Bob Vander Plaats, the head of the prominent evangelical group The Family Leader, Santorum disclosed that the prominent Iowan told him he needed money to make the most out of the endorsement.
“What he talked about was he needed money to promote the endorsement and that that would be important to do that,” Santorum told CNN. “There was never a direct ask for me to go out and raise money for it.”
Though Santorum did not specify the dollar amount he and Vander Plaats discussed, multiple sources said he was soliciting as much as $1 million from Santorum and other candidates.
In an interview with the Des Moines Register this week, Vander Plaats said that it was his “ethical responsibility” to essentially put some money where his mouth is.
“You can’t say, ‘We endorsed you. Now see you later,’” Vander Plaats told the Iowa newspaper. “That’s not going to do a lot in the long run.”
And we eat our own...
Every time.
None of that will affect me getting my job back which has gone to China. Only Trump has personal experience doing business and trades with China. The career politicians funded by Goldman Sachs are clueless.
Now, I know who Isara is working for - Red State. It makes sense.
Or they get paid by the Open Borders cartel aka Faux No Real News with zero fair balance.
Someone is paying and hopefully the IRS finds out if they don’t declare that income.
Here, let me post the final paragraph of this particular redstate Trump hit piece; after all we want everyone here to know the full truth about Donald Trump, to wit:
“It’s bad enough that Trump is a fake conservative and that he constantly says ridiculous things that are damaging the GOP brand forever. It’s bad enough that he constantly covers for Hillary every time she has a bad news cycle. He’s also a terrible person and a pathological liar.”
It’s a REAL shame that DT is “damaging the GOP brand forever”, particularly since the GOP hasn’t done a damn thing to stop a single whit of obama’s destroy-America-first policies, but have instead spent all of their energy supporting the billionaire oligarch and plutocrats who’ve purchased the current crop of our GOP “representatives” lock stock and barrel.
I will say, however, that I’m completely puzzled about the statement that DT “constantly covers for Hillary every time she has a bad news cycle”. Certainly, Hillary has A LOT of bad news cycles lately, and yet I can’t remember a single instance where DT “covered” for Hillary, much less “constantly”.
Though not a very strong closing, I do appreciate the all purpose “terrible person” and “pathological liar” labels, you know, just in case something specific got missed in the hit piece.
