A new ad that brutally exposes Donald Trump's hypocrisy vis-a-vis illegal immigration did not come from any of his current opponents, but rather Our Principles PAC, an anti-Trump group led by former Mitt Romney aide Katie Packer.
The ad opens by asserting that the reason Trump is skipping Thursday"s GOP debate is "Trump can't handle tough questions, like why he'd let millions of illegal immigrants stay in America and even supports a pathway to citizenship." The ad then shows Trump addressing a Chicago audience last June, sounding as if he endorsed giving illegal immigrants a path to citizenship. Trump lectured, "You have to give them a path and you have to make it possible for them to succeed. You have to do that."
The ad immediately segues to a recording of Trump telling Fox News on June 18, "How do you throw somebody out that's lived in this country for twenty years? You can't just throw everybody out."
That sentiment, of course, reflected precisely the opposite of Trump's attitude in his immigration plan, in which he ripped politicians, writing, "When politicians talk about 'immigration reform' they mean: amnesty, cheap labor and open borders." In October, Trump accused his then-chief rival, Ben Carson of being "for amnesty and I'm for a very strong border."
The ad follows with a Trump tweet from August 29 in which he supported amnesty for illegal immigrants after a halt to illegal immigration.
After citing Trump's huge hotels, the ad continues, "Why does Trump support amnesty? Maybe because Trump makes big money off illegal immigrants." The ad then notes that "a federal court ruled that Trump's company hired illegal immigrants to help the construction process for Trump Tower. He even paid a million dollar fine, and his new hotel in Washington?" The add quotes a news report stating, "The Washington Post interviewed about fifteen laborers at the D.C. hotel site, reporting that many reveal they entered the U.S. illegally."
The ad concludes: "Amnesty for illegal immigrants. Big money for himself. Can conservatives trust Donald Trump?"
Mitt Romney is a heartless SOB because he never really believed in deporting illegals to help American workers.
Someone who talks about many Mexicans rapists; & best and brightest isn’t going to be considered weak on immigration.
Romney just read out a bunch of talking points from a pro-borders group until he flip flopped after the primary.
I hope Trump went to the Dream event and BSed to them about what he would do.
Cruz and the so-called ‘poison pill’.
Cruz wants to have it both ways by having his cake and eat it too that seemed like a no lose situation for him. He gets in-place amnesty while not giving the illegal immigrants the path to vote. He tried to thread that needle making his backers happy and the GOPee. If it doesn’t pass, Cruz gets to claim that it was poison to his supporters, and if it does pass, he and his big backers are happy too that ensures cheap foreign labor via amnesty.
Moreover,
maybe Sessions believed that it was only to be a poison pill, as I said but not for Cruz. As late as last November, Cruz was telling us we needed to have ‘a conversation’ about illegal aliens as in giving amnesty for them. But in the December debate, Rubio caught onto Cruz’s game calling him out that got Cruz to move to the “right” again.
Cruz can’t get to the Right of Trump since he’s actually wants all of them deported, and if aliens wants to be hired by US employers, the US employers have to justify employing Americans first before hiring temporary foreign workers. ...They have to hire US citizen first before temp work visas are given out to foreigners under Trump’s immigration plan.
Epiphany synonym awakening.
Metanoia a turning toward.
Both, if in faith context especially, equals conversion.
That is going way too far with what Cruz actually said. Unless you can come up with something more explicit (and not taken out of context), it's complete BS when compared to the comments from Trump in this ad alone.
The Democrats didn't have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they weren't mean-spirited about it," Trump says. "They didn't know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind."
Romney's solution of "self deportation" for illegal aliens made no sense and suggested that Republicans do not care about Hispanics in general, Trump says.
He had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal," Trump says. "It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote," Trump notes. "He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country."....
The new paradigm. Trump is our Obama.
I am glad that Trump has seen the light that Paul did and had a real conversion.
Not sure how you know this but am really happy if he did.
I do not know whether Trump has so done. In my post I said that he can. Not he did.
Trumps prima donna style announcement to skip the debate because heâs the star of the show amd will not perform with second rate actors will not set well with Iowans or Americans generally.
Ignoring the purposes of a debate is to advance discussions on the future of this country. Not some entertainment comedy venue.
Policy wise Trumps revealing exchange with campaign disrupter and un official spokesman for the Mexican government Jorge Ramos (Univision). Who has dual citizenship, which should have but did not, show any conviction on his pronouuncements about Mexico and its relationship with US.
Here Trump could have demanded to know from him If he believes Mexico has legitimate claim to American states ,as well as bring up Mexican treatment of illegals. Then ask why should the US permit land ownership when legal American retirees cannot own land in their own name or vote there. Then boot his buttocks out of there.
Instead what does he do ? Kisses up to him and lets him go .The way the Mexicans are treating Americans reciprocity should be the issue and would dump the quote hispanic unquote krap being passed on as a generic hispanic issue. When actually it is problemes created by the Mexican government which have gone unchallanged.

Cruz's response to Rubio in the December debate: "I oppose legalization Today, tomorrow, forever."
But it certainly was not for as recent as "yesterday" Ted.
Very good question.
So we’re supposed to believe ROMNEY. Heck, you didn’t even support him on 2012 - and that’s saying a lot.
It’s hilarious that Team Cruz tells us Trump’s hot air is gospel but Cruz’s campaigning for Barack Obama’s legacy trade agenda in the U. S. Senate A FEW MONTHS AGO is a non issue. A sitting “principled conservative” U. S. Senator campaigning and casting U. S. Senate votes enabling Barack Obama, the most lawless POTUS in U. S. history. Remarkable cognitive dissonance these folks have.
The âKing of Whoppers’: Donald Trump

Yes, it is, between your ears. Here's what you said:
You INTERPRET what he said as such, while the Donald makes it absolutely clear he intends to bring back over ten MILLION illegals as legal immigrants, and in a hurry. He has a clear record in court of having been fined for hiring illegal Polish workers, whom he paid $5 per hour for 12 hours a day, seven days a week without overtime. There were no hard hats, gloves or breather masks provided while demolishing a building with asbestos insulation in it.
These are no inferences; these are FACTS. Facts are important, especially when they are weighed against stretched inferences. Try it some time, if you can learn to deal with reality.
Cruz- "Deport criminal immigrants: Recommit the federal government to deporting all illegal immigrants who commit crimes - and make use of all available tools to deport criminal immigrants as quickly as possible."
Does that include all the other border jumpers Ted, or only illegals who only commit robbery and murder? So is Ted going to send all the illegal border crossers home? Not there - not the ones who primarily come across the southern border. I don't see it.
Trump - "Detention-not catch-and-release. Illegal aliens apprehended crossing the border must be detained until they are sent home, no more catch-and-release. "
Trump uses specificity and he is to the point while Cruz uses overt verbosity. Trump is sending them back home.
Cruz again - "Stop criminal immigrants. Peaceful, law-abiding immigrants will be welcomed in the United States, but criminal immigrants will not receive quarter. "
So we see Cruz say only "peaceful immigrants" and he doesn't differentiate if they came here illegal. Default amnesty for the "peaceful" and if they don't break the law. Cheap labor for his big backers as long as they stay "peaceful" inside the United States.
Law-abiding immigrants = legal immigrants. If they aren’t legal they are illegal.
