Dr. Thomas a homosexual pastor and one of Donald Trump's favorite pastors, Dr. Robert Jeffress, discussed same-sex marriage.
Thomas argued that homosexual rights should be equated the same as rights with African-Americans received during the Civil Rights movement.
Dr. Robert Jeffress responded, "I do not believe race is the same as sexual choice. I have an African-American pastor friend here in this community who says, "Don't equate sin with the color of my skin.""
Thomas was offended and said, "My sexual orientation is just as valid in my lifestyle as someone's color of their skin. It's not a choice, it is something that is a God-given gift."
"All sexual activity is a choice. Nobody puts a gun to your head or my head and makes us doing anything sexually, it is all a choice," Jeffress responded.
Jeffress strongly argued that God is not schizophrenic and doesn't change his word.
"Unless you're willing to say Jesus was a homophobe," Jeffress added, then referred to God's design for marriage in Matthew 19.

I agree with Dr. Jeffress...as African-American woman, people should not equate SIN with the color of my skin. It's an easy cop out that won't work with God!
God's Word (Written and Living [Jesus]) NEVER changes!
"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away." (Matthew 24:35)
Malachi 3:6 - "For I am the LORD, I CHANGE NOT; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed (destroyed)."
Hebrews 13:8 - "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."
i do agree with that, i can admit im not colorblind but people should be judged on the merit of the characters not the skin color
Anyone who would be in the flock of a homosexual pastor is celebrating sin against God.
“My sexual orientation is just as valid in my lifestyle as someone’s color of their skin. It’s not a choice, it is something that is a God-given gift.”
Au contraire, mon frère...it is not the same.
Do the headline and first sentence go together? It’s a bit confusing, I’m rereading the original article.
Okay, I get it, well, Jeffress is a favorite of many, hence, his megachurch and his appearing on a number of tv and radio shows.
So good to hear someone say it.
It is not a sin to be white, black, olive-skinned, whatever. Skin colour is skin colour, the same as eye colour, hair colour. It is meaningless.
God’s word tells us what behaviour is immoral. Homosexuality is one of those behaviours.
What does Mr. Trump’s favorite pastor have to say about adultery?
This has nothing to do with judging by skin color - this is about SIN in the Eyes of God.
Yep.
And Trump has more or less, I thought, said he wouldn’t do anything about same-sex marriage.
I never heard that. Link?

No, Donald Trump Has Never Supported Same-Sex Marriage:

Right on! Pastor Jeffress!
All of the laws of nature that can be discovered from inside this world are “differential” laws. They can tell how things change, but not how things are. The Creator of the Universe specifies and maintains boundary conditions that are responsible making the world what it is. The Holy Scriptures, YHWH’s Word, are the part of those boundary conditions, or plan, that He has chosen to share with us.
When the Supreme Court banned the Bible from the Public Schools, they banded the only book that actually contains what is required to understand the real world. The interesting thing is that the Bible predicted that this would happen, over and over again, until the end of the age.
Amen!
Ultimately color is just the veneer on the core wood
Thank you for your perspective. A few years ago, there was an attempt to start a “gay church” locally. Their advertising campaign stated “Would Jesus discriminate?” They were deliberately trying to equate their sexual preferences with racial discrimination, and to get you to accept them on that false premise. Skin color is not sin any more than gender or height. Desires and conduct are.
My response to anyone making that argument is: Yes, Jesus would discriminate. He never accepted sin. He forgave sinners, so long as they were willing to repent. Homosexuals like the first clause of John 8:10; “Neither do I condemn you” while ignoring the second: “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
Interesting parallel “On defending marriage and responding to confrontation”
January 28, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) â Two years ago, I was asked to speak at our state capitol on behalf of the Marriage Amendment. The hearing was in a center room surrounded by a hallway. Those preparing to speak were kept in the hall until their time to address the amendment.
As I waited in the hallway, I was approached by a man who supported redefining marriage to include unions between members of the same sex. He was quite nice and reasonable in the beginning.
“I imagine you’re going to be speaking for the amendment on marriage?” he began.
“Yes,” I replied.
“Well, don’t you believe in freedom?”
To this I responded: “So long as that freedom falls in line with my convictions and Christian beliefs.”
That seemed to curtail his argument for the moment, but he persisted: “Surely you believe that love is the highest goal and that two people should be able to love one another regardless of their sexual orientation.”
“It is not merely my personal emotion of love that matters, but what God intended for the human race to thrive and survive. I believe that is between one man and one woman.”
By this time he was a bit flustered, but he pushed on. “I’m a Christian like you, and I believe love is the supreme goal of Christianity.”
“I don’t believe Jesus would agree with you!”
He was taken back and actually said, “Why wouldn’t He agree?”
Love is acting for others out of their best interests and not our own. In submitting ourselves to Christ, we do so for the love of Him alone. In leading others to out of sinful behaviors, we look to their salvation, thus to their good, and we are loving them.
Totally confused and angry, the man went for the holy grail of confrontation, name-calling. “Well,” he said, “you’re obviously homophobic.”
“Then that means,” I retorted, “that you are obviously Jesus-phobic.”
A crowd had gathered to listen to our sparring. With my last comment, a hush came over the crowd, and they began to slip away.
No matter the topic, the truth has power and the ability to change hearts and lives. In the pro-life moment, we must continually study and come prepared with the latest scientific, biblical, and rational evidence for life from the moment of conception. We must also be willing to engage others and not run in fear. Finally, and prayerfully, we must be willing to look others in the eye and tell them that there is a better way and that their analysis is wrong.
