WEST DES MOINES, Iowa â A cluster of super PACs backing Ted Cruz pledged on Wednesday to donate $1.5 million to veterans groups if Donald Trump agrees to a one-on-one debate with Cruz.
âIn response to Senator Ted Cruzâs challenge of a one-on-one debate, the principal donors of the Keep the Promise I and II super PACs are offering presidential candidate Donald Trump a truly fantastic deal, pledging to donate $1.5 million to charities committed to helping veterans if Mr. Trump agrees to debate Senator Cruz in Iowa,â reads a release from Keep the Promise, the group of super PACs backing the Texan. âThis money is in addition to the millions of proceeds available to the veterans as a share of the revenues that this debate could secure from a host network.â

That's pocket change to how much Trump has given to Vets over the years without conditions.
Yet again, Cruz rides closely after the pack leader. Trump takes the heat.
Cruz “me too’s” it. Great leadership.
Why won’t Trump just show up to debate Cruz? After all,it’s for a good cause.
Cruz always follows Trump’s lead, then try’s to one up him.
Just give the money to Vets and shut up.
Typical. Do things the way they want and they’ll toss Vets a crumb.
To make it clear that Trump is only doing his veterans’ stunt as another one of his cynical, odious self-promotions.
Forget about trying to buy Trump...just give the vets the money. It's the right thing to do.
Let me sneak a look around the door, “Is Megyn gonna be there?”
Quack quack quack. I’m scared she might be there.
Why should Trump allow Cruz to sponge off his popularity? How about Cruz donate the money to the Vets and try and shine on the stage all by his lonesome. Can he?
How much will you give Fox to let Trump and the other actually have a bona-fide, genuine debate with no interference form the attention-grabbing “moderators”?
Without that, you can give all the money you want to the Vets and there’d still be no actual “debate.”
Another Trumpbot who signed up in August.
Cruz as president:
I’ll give a million dollars to Black Lives Matter if you stop filibustering all of my bills, and debate me next to the Washington Monument.

Helping Vets is a long time tradition for Donald Trump.

Sounds desperately disappointed. Maybe even hopeless. Sorry.
Why spoil Cruz’s center stage victory tonight.
Cruz gets to be center stage, take all the anger and arrows
and show he’s the smartest man on the planet.
Huckabee to join trump tonight, says Byron York
“To make it clear that Trump is only doing his veteransâ stunt as another one of his cynical, odious self-promotions.”
That’s just your opinion.
Cruz IS actually engaging in a stunt that is cynical, odious self-promotion.
Unsanctioned debates are against the rules. Besides what does Trump have to gain - an even bigger lead in the polls?
He knows everyone on stage will be coming after him, and he sucks at “debates” that aren’t structured like the ones at some college debate club.
Might not want to go there - apparently from between 2008 and 2013 Donald gave as much to PP as he did veterans groups, and gave from between 2 and 5 times that amount to the Clinton Foundation.
