Advocates of gun control raked in $3.6 million over the last two years to place an initiative to tighten background checks for gun purchases and transfers in Nevada on the November ballot and ensure it passes.
The initiative is part of a broader national push to establish universal background check laws state by state after an effort to do so on the federal level failed in 2013. Mostly recently, Washington passed an expanded background check law through the ballot initiative process in 2014, and Oregonâs legislature approved a similar law last year.
In total, 18 states have enacted background check laws that go beyond what federal law requires. Nevada is poised to become the 19th.

Yeah, how much of that money came from inside NV?
Not as much as from outside. But the usual suspects like steve wynn, ceasars entertainment, former LV mayor........
I suspect “Everytown”, etc
Now this is odd. I got a call yesterday/day before? from a Cruz polling organization. One of the things they asked me about was this.
Um, you’ll fight it tooth and nail to keep it from passing? LOL!
Hey, thanks for all the gun threads you post. We appreciate them.
Your most welcome. How’s things in New Mexico? Looks like we may be getting some much needed snow this weekend. Maybe even down to Reno level. Still not too cold though. We may even send the leftovers east to you.
Had a bit of a warm up. The 12/26 storm stuff is finally beginning to melt at my altitude. May get a little more Monday (perhaps your storm), but nothing huge. Saturday looks to be really nice, which is good since there’s a Sporting Clays match at Founder’s Ranch (SASS headquarters) which is 6 miles from me. It will be muddy, but we’re sued to that.
I don’t know that I can keep it from passing but I’ll give it a good try.
Nice. Happy shooting.
You’ll have help but probably not from any of the major gun orgs like NRA or GOA since they’ll be spending money getting “pro-gun” can’t-i-dates (s)elected. But, we’ll try.
:)
