Donald Trump becomes the choice of the Republican establishment
Reuters ^ | January 27, 2016 | Bill Schneider

What we are seeing now is a split. The Republican Party establishment is anxiously embracing Trump. The conservative ideological establishment is angrily rejecting Trump and promoting Cruz. What’s the difference?

Republican Party leaders see Trump as more flexible and pragmatic. “We’ve got to make deals,” Trump said at a campaign rally last week. “We don’t want to sign executive orders. We want to make good deals.” Deal making is something professional politicians understand.

Bill Schneider was a CNN biggie for some twenty years, has been HuffPo diarist and belongs to a journalistic group called The Third Way.

The idea that he's giving us some kind of inside the GOP info is fatuous and misleading. At best.

BS article, fodder for Trump haters to post on conservative websites.

Trump can afford to drive the mental patients and street rabble to the polls in limousines and give the winos Napa’s finest.

From reasoned discourse to this in a few short weeks.

Mirrors can be good sometimes. Check one out soon.

Non-illegal winos and mental patients are citizens, too.

They get to vote along with the non-sinners who sit in the front rows at church. :>)

>> What state can Cruz win that Romney didn’t win? <<

Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Virginia... for starters.

>> Who can win over Democrats, union workers, and blacks other than Trump? <<

The Trump folks have been deluded by Drudge, et al. Look at actual poll data. The legend that Trump wins 20% of blacks was based on a poll of REPUBLICANS that included 5 blacks. Trump is the most hated man in America, outside of the Republican echo chamber. His disapproval ratings are near 70%.

Remember how the Democrats ripped Romney to shreds about the 47%? How do you think a billionaire complaining that the problem with the American economy is that “wages are too high”?

Hey, clueless... they announced these people AFTER Trump quit. That means they’re for CRUZ, not TRUMP. But Cruz isn’t a cowardly prima-Donald.

I'm almost certain this was a topic of conversation before Trump left.

Give the Trump campaign some credit. If we knew about it, they did.

They may have announced it after he left...

To Trump, making deals means WINNING. To the GOPe, making deals means compromise. Compromising with bad policy is like adding a little sewage to your drinking water.
