WEST DES MOINES, IA - Today, presidential candidate Ted Cruz invited Donald Trump to a one-on-one debate held before Iowa Republican voters caucus and make their selection for president. The event would take place at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City this Saturday, January 30th at 8:00 p.m. Cruz suggested the moderators either be radio hosts Mark Levin, Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh, or that the format simply be questions from the audience.
"We owe it to the men and women of Iowa to ensure that they hear jointly and directly from the two leading Republican candidates so that they may contrast our positions on the critical issues we face as a nation as they make their final choice leading up to Monday's caucuses," said Cruz.
The venue has already been reserved and the Cruz campaign anxiously awaits a response from Donald Trump.
The full letter from Cruz:
January 27, 2016
Dear Donald,
We owe it to the men and women of Iowa to ensure that they hear jointly and directly from the two leading Republican candidates so that they may contrast our positions on the critical issues we face as a nation as they make their final choice leading up to Monday's caucuses.
Accordingly, please accept this invitation to join me at an in-person, two-hour Town Hall event at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City this Saturday, January 30th at 8:00 p.m. Central. This venue is already reserved and I would propose that our campaigns evenly divide available seating/ticketing. Our teams can jointly work on the logistical details.
Additionally, I propose one of the following three individuals serve as a Town Hall facilitator: Mark Levin, Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh. If none of these proposed individuals are acceptable to you, I suggest that instead we alternate in fielding direct questions from the audience.
I look forward to your timely response.
Ted

This is BS. I doubt Cruz has okayed his idea with Limbaugh. We’ll see what Rush says tomorrow.
Political stunt.
Take out 2 or 3
See post #18.
Trump agreed to the debate, but only in Canada.
Cruz tempts Trump to break the RNC debate rules.
Although unauthorized debates are not permitted, Cruz is desperately seekimg attention.
Trump follows RNC rules and resists Cruz’s temptation.
So trimp makes the rules?
We Do!
Breaking!
Cruz just trumped Trump! His PAC will donate $1.5 mil to Vets if Trump will debate him one on one.
“So just go ahead and donate the money if he cares about vets”
He turned down Jebbies demand for a one on one also. Maybe they could arm wrestle instead.
I know FR is Cruz Counry, but really, this is another example of how self-serving Cruz is. All about him...all the time.
And what a jerk Hannity is to promote this like he is doing some sort of public service. Another egomaniac.
It's against the rules to have rogue TV debates unsanctioned by the RNC, Mr. Cruz.
You luz, Mr. Cruz!
Leni
That’s called begging.
..lol, a master debater who canât find anyone to debate with...
The Jebster is looking for someone to debate. But, whether Ted will accept is debatable.
Trump is a very capable man, with and army of thugs on tap and a cult of personality.
Buyer beware.
Dumb. Trump is 38 million under budget. He could easily double or quadruple that.
Duck, Donald, Duck!
Carli trumped Cruz: 2M.
That is my first thought, too.
Jeb can master debate all by himself.
To keep the interest level up in Iowa, they claim that 39% decide in the last hours. I am really tried of this attention on Iowa, a totally Byzantine system from a Blue State that hasn’t correctly picked Republican nominees or future Presidents. All this for guys who lose down the road anyway.
