Ted Cruz Super PACs Offer $1.5M for Veterans if Donald Trump Will Debate Him One-on-One In Iowa
Breitbart ^ | 1/27/2016 | Matthew Boyle

DES MOINES, Iowa - A pair of pro-Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) Super PACs just offered $1.5 million for veterans if Donald Trump will debate Cruz one-on-one in Iowa before Sunday evening.

Keep The Promise I and Keep The Promise II offered up the sizable donation for America's veterans on Wednesday evening.

The principal donors of Keep the Promise I, the Mercer family, and Keep the Promise II, the Neugebauer family, in a joint statement released Wednesday evening said:

Senator Cruz and Mr. Trump both respect the veterans and hold them in the highest regard but Senator Cruz respects the process and we are calling on Mr. Trump to do the same and debates are the purest form of democracy. Iowans - and Americans - deserve to hear from the frontrunners in this 'two-man race' one last time. Not only would this be a heck of a debate, but it would also be a terrific opportunity to generate millions of dollars for the veterans.

The press release made clear the parameters of the pro-Cruz Super PACs' offer: The debate must be between just Trump and Cruz, must take place on or before Sunday Jan. 31 in Iowa, must be one-hour long, and the candidates can pick a jointly-agreed-to moderator themselves.

I find this disgusting. He will only give money if Trump debates him? Why not give the money anyway? Lord knows he doesn’t give anything to the church except the puny 1 percent. Cruz sucks more and more every minute. He is worse then pond scum due to this nasty request.

Have been a Trump fan from the getgo....thought Cruz would be a good VP choice...not now.

I thought it was illegal for SuperPacs and the candidate to communicate, never mind coordinate.

How does the legal scholar, Rafael Cruz, get around this?

The lawyer in Cruz is coming out like a snake! Technically Cruz is not violating any rules

What about Campaign Finance Laws? Don't they prohibit the communication and coordination between SuperPacs and the candidate?

What's the technicality Cruz his betting the farm on?

Trump has to run from Megyn Kelly in order to hold a rally to raise (not give) money to vets. Talk about a scumbag! Using vets to hide his cowardice. Some of those vet groups are not falling for it and refuse to be used by Donald Chump.

Why doesn’t Trump just write a check for vets instead of holding a rally to raise (not give) money?

Trump isn’t asking for anything in return.

Blinders that big have to be uncomfortable.

I know reading is hard for you, but you should try. The offer is coming from a PAC, not from Cruz. You want to be "disgusted", direct it at them. However, I find it disgusting that the only time Trump ever seems to be concerned about veterans is when it can benefit him politically...

Trump could ask his twitterers whether or not he should.

When you made me aware of these technicalities, the first thing that pops into my head is of an extreme desperation on Cruz’ part. This is not the good old boy Cruz who posed with Trump at Trump towers. Cruz is changing into a viper.

Very interesting.

"A one-on-one debate between Cruz and Trump would be a good thing for the country."

Good of country?! You are so old fashioned to care about that.

"What idea of Trump's has CRuz NOT jumped on?"

Ha! You are more correct than you know, since Trump has been on both sides of every idea. :-)

Yup.

I’d like to see some reporting on the campaign finance laws Cruz is breaking with this “challenge”.
