Rupert Murdoch is urging former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to throw his hat in the ring and run for president.
"This is Bloomberg's last chance," the billionaire media mogul tweeted Wednesday morning. "You never know until your hat is in the ring!"
Murdoch added, in what may be a veiled reference to Donald Trump's planned boycott of Thursday's GOP presidential debate on his Fox News Channel: "Events change everything, especially during elections."

How is Murdoch going to manipulate Bloomberg, the self-made entrepreneur worth $40b, 3x more than him?
I always shake my head in amazement when leftists screech that FOX news is conservative.
Bloomberg became NYC mayor on the GOP ticket. NYC Republicans amount to 13% of its voters. Bloomberg presumably won a majority of their votes, and a fair chunk of Democratic votes, against the Democratic nominee. He spent $650m on becoming mayor and simply donating money to get things done as mayor that he couldn't get appropriated by the City Council, while taking $1 a year in salary. I expect he will outspend both parties combined by billions to run for office. Total campaign spending by Obama and Romney amounted to $1b. Bloomberg is worth $40b via his financial data service (Bloomberg) which, from a zero base, went on to crush his rivals Reuters and Thomson.
In all honesty, who would vote for Michael Bloomberg? We Americans love our big gulps.
Money is not an issue with Bloomberg. He’s much wealthier than Trump. I agree that he would likely take many more votes from the Democrat nominee than from the Republican.
It’s a bunch of yelling over each other and selling books. I stopped watching right after the last 2012 election then disconnected the cable a year later. Haven’t missed either.
I've never seen anyone smoke out so many imposters so easily.
yeah, it was absurd towards the end.
If it wasn’t for the better half, I wouldn’t have TV.
i watch netflix, prime, NFL etc.
Yes, everyone but delusional elitists already know that he has no chance!
After British import Bloomberg has made himself well known as the greatest gun-grabber since King George, the below map and link should be a reality check for Bloomberg supporters:

I think bloomie splits the vote on the left. I think this is a good plan!
That’s funny right there.
Wait, how many billionaires from NY are going to enter the race?
Given that Bloomberg's mother was an office manager and his father was a realtor who died a few years after he graduated college whereas Trump was born with silver spoon, you'd have to wonder who the elitist is. Bloomberg is a bona fide entrepreneurial genius. From nothing, he built a $40b fortune in the financial data business by toppling entrenched incumbents like Thomson and Reuters. His experience as a GOP mayor, winning 2 terms against Democrats in a city that is only 13% Republican suggests that he's got a keen political mind that has overcome a complete absence of charisma.
Romney was a brilliant entrepreneur who built a $400m from nothing except perhaps his father's connections from his time as AMC's CEO and the Michigan gubernatorial mansion. Unlike Romney and Trump, Bloomberg had no connections and no inherited money, yet is worth $40b. That's a tremendous personal achievement. But unlike Trump, you'll never hear him advertise it. I don't like Bloomberg's politics, but he is clearly a man of substance in a very old-fashioned way.
yeah, he was a major character in the movie.
i’m sure that could NEVER happen today.
like when that women said aloud a lottery ball number before it actually appeared.
If Bloomberg jumps in, this could be much more entertaining than the 1992 and 1996 races where Perot was the wild card. Perot was outspent by each of the parties. Bloomberg will outspend both parties combined. And then some.
Some communists would vote for the douche bloomberg. Would take votes away from hitlery and sanders (also a commie).
I certainly don’t plan to watch any FOX News debates. The next debate features three people invited by FOX: An Hispanic woman (a Mexican, if I remember correctly), a muslim woman, and a token white guy. These invites are possibly an attempt to set up Trump.
I do watch FOX at other times, but it’s not my only source for news.
