This follows other stories I have seen. Have seen stories from Vets who have contacted them and many are rejected. Not laying any specific castigation here, just that the body of reports seem to be growing.

That sounds astoundingly high.

Most charities distribute 7-10% of gross intake.

With the dedication that Donald Trump has shown to helping Vets, I will venture to say the Wounded Warriors will find ways to be more efficient and get more money to the veterans, now that Donald Trump is involved with them.

Why not let people who evaluate charities across the board do this job instead of the Daily Caller?

People can make up their own minds about which charities to support, and for what reasons.

They also do not accept donations from church groups. More important to stay away from religion, I guess.

There is a story of a group of kids at a church raising money as part of their religious training, and they collected it so send to Wounded Warriors. They sent it back and said they don’t take money from churches, even though there was no proselytizing - just a check.

Things that make you go, “Hmmmmm.”

Mr. Trump has said that he supports the U.S. veterans that are “wounded warriors”.
He has not said that he supports the organization named “Wounded Warriors Project”.

There is a distinct difference.

You want to help vets? Donate to Fisher House, Injured Marine Semper Fi, your local VFW or American Legion or Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. These people get the money to the needy.

We’ve been giving to Homes For Our Troops for about 15 yrs. 5 star rating. 89.4% of funds go to disabled Vets.

My elderly neighbor suffers from Lupus and knowing that I used to date a gal who also suffered from Lupus at the time, asked me if I could find a lupus support group.

I eventually found the Michigan Lupus foundation (or something like that) and contacted them several times via email asking for information and never received it.

After further investigation, I discovered that the gal who heads the foundation receives $45,000 per year from the govt. and she also sits on the board of another "non profit" organization.......

Other than holding the occasional races for Lupus to raise funds for the organization, there is no information where those funds go to........

Those who are against WWP are anti-capitalists. WWP is a private entity that can do whatever it likes with its OWN money. /s

We do a lot of research before we select a charity to receive our charitable donations. I looked into the Wounded Warriors fund 5 years ago and their numbers were not even as bad as today. We chose not to donate to them. Our money goes to the Gary Sinise Foundation and the Semper Fi fund for vets. We have other charities that get our donations that we scrutinize to the same level.

There are too many of these national charities that spend a big part of donations on fat salaries for executives, lavish conferences and a lot of junk that does nothing to help those they claim to help. The Red Cross and United Way are good examples I can think of. I have to give credit to the Salvation Army. They help in many ways and do not seek any publicity or pay their staff big salaries. During the 1993 floods in Iowa, I witnessed the Salvation Army busy giving out hot meals, helping clean up and never wasting time with press conferences like the Red Cross.
