But a true fact which the tv pundits ignore when they say it's unprecedented for a candidate to skip this last debate before Iowa.
Other than incumbent Presidents running for reelection I do not recall that ever occurring.
I think the point is that Cruz cannot continually invoke Reagan for himself and then attack Trump for doing the same thing Reagan did, no?
Reagan didn’t skip the debate by having an attention-whore Twitter tantrum. The thing that stands out about Trump here is the egregious display of narcissism.

Reagan skipped the debate before the Iowa Caucuses and narrowly LOST the Iowa Caucuses to George H.W. Bush.

Neither did Trump. He skipped debate because of the immature press release Fox sent out. Why should he go on if he’s not going to receive equal respect??
If Fox had issued a similar PR about Cruz, you Cruzers would go apes**t and praise Cruz if he had as much balls to skip out as Trump did.

I don’t think he skipped because somebody made a boo-boo on his feelings.
It was a stupid move on Reagan’s part to skip the Iowa debate. He was able to recover, by winning decisively the next debate.
No worries for Trump then. There are 6 more debates scheduled.

So historically no matter how great a candidate may be, if he skips the last debate before the Iowa caucus he will lose the Iowa caucus.
Did Reagan win any caucuses or primaries that occurred immediately after he skipped a debate?
Did Reagan also have a hissy fit and do juvenile name-calling about a moderator?
