With all due respect, Fox did not put up any ‘battle line’ - Trump did. All they are doing is putting on a debate-he chose not to attend. There is no battle other than the one that Trump has put up. He has been on fox more than 100 times, so it appears that when they are useful, he is all in. When they are not, he will take his football and leave.
This is not about Kelly Megyn. IF you think it is, then you’re wrong.

Trump leads in Iowa. His move will cement his standing. He does not lose votes. May not gain votes.

I see an out for both sides though now, but it will cost Fox a ton of money in donations to the disabled veterans. I think Trumps floor would be $10 million, he ll probably start at $35 million.
