Donald Trump wasted no time Wednesday morning fanning the flames of his newly reignited feud with Fox News star Megyn Kelly.
"I refuse to call Megyn Kelly a bimbo, because that would not be politically correct," the Republican presidential front-runner said in an early morning tweet. "Instead I will only call her a lightweight reporter!"
Trump has taken issue with Kelly since the two faced off in last summer's Fox News debate - the first Republican debate of the 2016 election cycle.
Trump's last throw down with "The Kelly File" host was similarly punctuated by the b-word [Aug 24, 2015].
The rivalry was restarted Tuesday night after the real estate mogul announced through his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, that he would not be participating in Thursday's Republican debate, which is slated to air on Fox News.
In a pre-rally press conference in Iowa City, Iowa, Trump referred to Kelly as a "lightweight" and a "third-rate reporter," and suggested he would be sitting out the debate in favor of a charity event for the Wounded Warrior Project.
Kelly quickly responded on her show by declaring that she would not step down as moderator.
Her network soon followed suit with their own response, accusing Lewandowski of threatening Kelly, and vowing to not to give into "terrorizations."

For years people on this site have lamented about how the RNC kowtows to libs during debates.
Cruz supporters should welcome Trump being willing to take them on.

It’s fair to do that since I and evidently many others do call her a bimbo outright.
And I do not just use that term typing on my computer.
I enjoy explaining why it is fair to make that assessment if anyone gets offended.
Trump is far nicer to her than I will ever be.
The name calling is something she initiated. She lacks the discretion to assess her behavior and back away from the fire.
If it was Cruz acting like this, you’d be slobbering all over yourself praising him.
But instead Cruz is all ‘Thank you sir; may I have another?’ when it comes to the media.
It must suck that you’ve lost your last chance to have your candidate publicly fling mud before the primaries start.

What’s going to happen if he is President and Russia, China, North Korea, or another power is “Unfair†to him? Is he going to call them names and say “I’m not going to talk to them. They’re low energy, stupid bimbo’s.â€. I can’t see that boding well for the US.

You see what Trump did, right? He turned Fox’s attempt to put him into a no-win scenario into a no-lose scenario for him.
I want him to do that for the United States. If they’re not going to bargain in good faith or try to take more than you’re willing to give, then a diplomatic FU and walk away from the table. It’s what Reagan did to the Soviets re: missile defense.
This behavior is cruder than that, but it works the same way, except for the fact that it involves the US population too. Don is using his leverage, and it’s working.
The media is the ENEMY. I want no punches pulled.
Just saying that we wouldn’t want a Muskie incident. but it is my belief that Trump is unstable. And gutless since he wont face critics like Kelly. And he can be bought although his price will be higher than most other people.

If he doesn’t have a landslide victory in Iowa, maybe Dear Leader Trump will tell us how stupid the Iowa voters are.
Or maybe he’ll just blame his poor showing on the corruption of the GOP power structure — at which point he might have an excuse drop out of the primaries and run as an independent.
FR not respecting the huge Tony Perkins endorsement of Cruz, they dont want it on the front page, not given the same respect that the Falwell for Trump was given.

Sorry, but Reagan’s behavior in the 1980s was acceptable and effective.

Like it or not, but what Trump is doing re: social media, leverage, and walking away publicly is exceptionally effective.
Your candidate isn’t effective.
You might not like it, but that’s how the world works today, and your candidate will keep losing unless he figures that out too.
So you have a choice. Stay clean and lose, or get dirty and win?
The 1980s are over. This is not the time or the place for dignity as you describe it. We can no longer afford that luxury.
This is closer to the Civil War. As Lincoln once said of a certain boozy, uncouth, nasty general: “I can’t spare this man; he fights.”
