Of the remaining Republican presidential candidates, Senator Ted Cruz is the best choice to repair the mess that Eric Holder and Barack Obama have left at the United States Department of Justice. Cruz alone has an understanding of both the corrosive and lawless policies of the last seven years as well as the complex task of restoring the rule of law.
Cruz has an outsider’s zeal to reverse Obama’s lawlessness with the insider’s ability to overcome bureaucratic inertia.

If you care about energy, national security, religious liberty, immigration or the power of government, it is the Justice Department lawyers that develop the intricate legal policies that support the agency decisions. They are the lawyers that make the litigation decisions.

When Obama radicalized the Justice Department, he radicalized the government.

I know this because Senator Cruz is one of the few senators who display any comprehension of the radical transformation taking place inside Justice. When Holder or other administration officials go before the Judiciary Committee, Cruz is one of the senators who can be counted on to conduct real oversight.
Cruz conducts oversight of Eric Holder and his gang of radicals the same way I would. Unlike some colleagues, Cruz actually shows up for oversight hearings of the Justice Department. Cruz digs into the important issues during oversight and confirmation hearings and doesn’t ask provincial questions seemingly unaware of the lawless history of this Justice Department.

To reverse the culture of lawlessness that has overtaken the Obama Justice Department, the political appointees will need the skills of an insider with the ideology of an outsider, just like Ted Cruz has.
Political overseers, and presidents, who merely issue commands to the ministerial state will invariably have those commands diluted, ignored, opposed and reversed.

But... Trump can fix it better because he has no legal or constitutional background and is a true outsider and he can build a big wall and make them pay for it.
I agree.
He should be Attorney General.Provided he can get confirmed thru this Senate.
I trust him to clear out some of the rat’s nest in there.
Freepers used to think Cruz was best too. There is actually no comparison. Cruz is still the best.
AND, he’ll make the wall....YUUUUGGGEEE!
Howdy Libby, thought you got banned, LOL, welcome back :-)

Excellent points. This is why Ted Cruz is the candidate most qualified to be the president needed to repair the damage Obama has done to our system.
The great thing about Cruz he would be very good in about any role, but where he will excel is as The President of this United States!
GO TED CRUZ!! VOTE TED CRUZ!!
Alot of Freepers still think do think Cruz is the best. Cruz will win.
GO TED CRUZ! VOTE TED CRUZ!
Ted Cruz would make a great AG
Now don’t put words in my mouth, kiddo! lol
I’m a skill-set voter.
Trump has the skill-set for this time: we need someone who has run a big thing successfully and made it work.
I’m disgusted with all of our senators running in this race — all of them. They are everything we complained that Obama was: a first-term senator who accomplished nothing. If it was good enough to criticize Obama, it’s fair to call them out for the same thing. No more on the job training.
The hourglass is running out of sand.....
...and Series
Like you said and others have said. Ted Cruz could be very good at alot of different roles in the government. On FR I have heard it recommended,In addition to President, Vice President, Majority leader of the Senate, Attorney General and Supreme Court Justice.
As far as I am concerned a man that has the potential to handle those roles would make an excellent commander in chief.
GO TED CRUZ! VOTE TED CRUZ!
That's what I've been saying. Cruz would not have the same ability to effect change inside DOE from the Oval Office as inside the HQ of DOE. Go, Ted. Attorney General. And a great position from which to acquire a record and launch a bid eight years from now. THAT is his path to the White House that would have the most influence on mending this country.
I know many FReepers don't like Trump, but he seems inevitable now, and with a cabinet anchored by smart, capable men and women like Cruz, this country would rebound.
Whoever is the next president (and I hope its Ted Cruz), will need to bring out the big-ass broom to sweep out a lot of entrenched big government lib operatives in many government agencies. DOJ is one of the worst cases, but State, CIA, FBI, EPA, HUD, HHS and Education are also hives of these vipers. I didn’t mention IRS because I hope it will be eliminated altogether.
When you say Ted Cruz has accomplished "nothing," do you mean politically? Because as a lawyer, as Texas SG, he won court cases that directly impacted the government and law of the land. But all that previous experience doesn't count, because he's now a senator?
Now, name all of the political accomplishments of Trump. Absolutely zero. He's never even held elective office. So, somehow, Trump's past successful business career is supposed to count towards his political accomplishments, but Cruz's actual legal and political accomplishments before he was a senator aren't?
This is why I can't get past this FR love of Trump. He's the hypothetical candidate, who has never done a SINGLE thing politically (at least not conservative), yet somehow what he says he's going to do is more important than what other people who have been living their conservative bona fides for decades have done. I just don't get it...
Donald Trump would make a great caddy.
Ending the lawlessness in the Justice Department should be the job of the Republican majority Congress. Just such a sad state of affairs that we the people have to wait for a new President to police the entire District of Corruption.
I don’t think it’s possible. I have a feeling all of them, including the RINO’s, will fight a Trump or Cruz President tooth and nail just to keep the current corrupt system in tact, to include keeping the destruction of America in progress.
Why would Ted Cruz want it? Who was the last attorney general who went on to become president?
