Video: Joe Arpaio Opens For Donald Trump At Mesa Rally--12/16/15
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is heading to Iowa to campaign on behalf of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, according toCNN and New York Times reports.
The Arizona sheriff has been a vocal opponent of the Obama administration for years and is known for his tough take on tackling crime and hardline stance on illegal immigration.
Arpaio will appear with Trump in Marshalltown, according to the Times, a month after appearing at a Trump rally in his home state.
Trump has made ending illegal immigration a focal point of his Republican presidential campaign, and is running neck-and-neck with Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) in Iowa ahead of ballots being cast Monday.
"I have great respect for Sheriff Arpaio. We must restore law and order and respect the men and women of our police forces. I thank him for his support of my policies and candidacy for President," Trump said in a statement published by the Times.
In another statement published by the newspaper, Arpaio praised Trump as a "leader" who "produces results and is ready to get tough in order to protect American jobs and families."
"I have fought on the front lines to prevent illegal immigration and I know Donald Trump will stand with me, and countless Americans, to secure our border. I am proud to support him as the best candidate for President of the United States of America," he added.
The sheriff challenged President Obama's executive actions on immigrations, but the Supreme Court recently rejected his appeal to hear his case.
The endorsement comes on the heels of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin endorsing Trump last week and Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr., endorsing him earlier Tuesday.
YUGE!
Mr. niteowl77
Santorum or Beck?
One sweater vest is small, one is YUGE :)
LOL...maybe Joe can head down to the packing house and scare a few hundred illegals back south.
That's because you're playing dumb and you have the sense of humor of a Canuck.
This is so wonderful. What a great American sheriff Joe !! And he is a stick in the eye to the Amnesty candidates like rubio and bush. I predict right now that Trump will be also soon be endorsed by the great David Clarke— the outstanding Sheriff of Milwaukee Wisconsin that we love so much.
I got 20+% I got 50%
Who will predict 60%?
Don't worry, they say Trump will be out any day now.
Glen Beck is a nutty fruitcake by trade.
Amen and Amen.
Thanks, it should be interesting.
lol, the little guy that is only half crazy. Beck is one BIG nut job.
You’re clueless.
Cruz might have some good aspects but he also has 2 deal killers that cannot be overcome.
1. He is a senator and I can’t remember when one single senator made for a good president. Senators make lousy presidents.
2. He is a lawyer and lawyers make messes where none exist.
These 2 aspects make Cruz a non starter.
Trump on the other hand has a solid track record that is tangible and measurable. He has created billions in wealth. He knows what it is to have to meet a payroll and to have to sweat under the crushing pressure of regulations. Every business owner knows how tough this is.He has earned his own money. He has had to deal with thousands of employees. He has made it work in other countries. He is a business powerhouse. He lives in reality.
Cruz simply does not. Being stuck in government makes you out of touch the more you are in there.
That he is.
Hey, Ted Cruz may be my first choice, but if Sheriff Joe wants to endorse Trump, so be it. Contrary to what Obama, Holder/Lynch might think, he’s an American too and entitled to express his opinion. I met Joe when he was the DEA SAC in Phoenix. He’s a good guy, a great cop and a great American.
Really? What about Sheriff Joe? Cruz is talk, Joe is action.
As Trump says many many times, he is never over confident. Until you have won you have nothing. But, OK I’ll bid it up to 60%. What the hell!
Exactly!
I voted for Cruz twice in Texas. I like Cruz (despite some of his hateful supporters). While he has been very high profile as a Senator,,what has he accomplished as a Senator, legally? What legislation?
I think Cruz would be great on SCOTUS. Cruz is ok but some of his supporters are destroying any possible crossover support he may have had otherwise.
Sorry, no more room under the bus.
