It’s in Ted’s emails and stuff that they have people coming from all over to do the ground work in Iowa. Not to stack the vote, but to organize, get out the word, etc.

Yes, big difference between bringing in people from out of state to do ground work and bringing in people from out of state to vote.

The poster claimed that Trump was busing in voters.

Versus a faux conservative like Trump. Yeah I guess that makes sense.

Almost the same, although I don't know the exact circumstances.

I've got no problem with with preachers urging the congregation to vote. I've got no problem with a preacher letting it be known who he is voting for.

A preacher who instructs his flock to vote for a specific candidate because he said so... or because that's what God would want... I'd leave the church or he would.

These snake-oil charlatan preachers don't seem to last very long where I'm from.

Makes a lot of sense; Trump is not asking for money like all the professional conservatives who were not even elected. Trump is removing the need to pay them off.

As would I, and I don't know many preachers that would do such a thing.

Funny, there is nothing in that article to support the claim being made - all third part supposition and conjecture. I guess I shouldn’t expect more from a blog called “ScorchedEarthNews”.

No it will be bus loads of out of state voters bused in to Iowa that will give Trump the win. BTW, those are the words of a bragging Trump supporter, and not mine.

I'm scheduled to help run a caucus site next Monday night.

The process has us looking up every would-be caucus participant in the county voter database. If they don't show up or, they're not registered Republican, they must register and/or declare as a Republican. I could be mistaken but, I expect proof of residency will be required (as on a normal election day).

Personally, I would be more concerned about the Republican Party of Iowa in Des Moines cooking the books. (It wouldn't be the first time.) But, supposedly, that's been made impossible by utilizing an app to transmit the results from every caucus site and requiring all of the raw data to be retained for later scrutiny.

Re>Cruz is TELLING preachers in Iowa to break the law and demand their flock support him

Cruz is owned and controlled by religious FANATCTICS.

This is scary stuff.

I still remember Heidi Cruz being worried sick ... so tired of that kind of conservative pseudo religious fund raising.

Re>Can you find me that separation clause in the Constitution

Then these churches can pay taxes. Problem solved.

I suspect some do, but most probably just look to their pastor’s opinion as someone respected, and may listen to them, may not. I am sure a Pastor speaking out for a candidate (or against another based on evidence) can’t hurt the former...

I fully expect the next thing out of his mouth to those who disagree is to “ sit down and shut up”. Lots of his fans here have that attitude.

First: Thank you for your service in this matter! I feel more secure in the process with a Freeper at the scene.

Question: Is the ballot a secret ballot? I thought I heard that it was, but then I saw old news footage of someone (in a Hillary shirt) counting raised hands for Hillary.

Cruz is TELLING preachers in Iowa to break the law and demand their flock support him. This is how little Cruz thinks of Christianity and freedom!

Jeez, the site you linked to is nothing but a constant stream of pro-Trump articles. I wonder if this guy is on the Trump payroll.

I believe it’s been referenced several times in posts related to Cruz’s ‘’ground game’’ in Iowa. Not sure if it had it’s own separate post (or posts, because they usually come in multiples) or not.

(Yesterday was a weird day. Check this out (though you. too. may see nothing wrong with it)

Few countries have birthright citizenship. Cruz’s mother had always told him she had never sought citizenship for him.

Technically, the first time he voted in the U.S., that nullified his citizenship in Canada. His renouncing it was a formality.

WTH?

It was in this thread

But, I have to say, the personal insults seem small-minded, as if he cannot tolerate disagreement or criticism. My enthusiasm has tempered.

I’m like you...I originally liked Trump and he was a close 2nd to Cruz in my preference. I had visions of a Cruz/Trump or, more likely, a Trump/Cruz ticket. My liking of Trump has been blown away by his vitriol and NEEDLESS scorched Earth tactics-—and NOTHING remains of those good feelings I had.

What problem? I don’t see the first amendment as a problem.

Is the desire to use taxation as a weapon a Trump thing, or just your idea?

No, I don’t think so. Campaigning is one thing. Voting in a caucus is another. I have seen several people say they were going to Iowa for the caucuses.

You’re right. This is the kind of thing democrats do. IIRC, Ron Paul’s supporters pulled a similar stunt in several locations

I’m sure if something like that happens, it will be talked about, no matter who does it.

Question: Is the ballot a secret ballot? I thought I heard that it was, but then I saw old news footage of someone (in a Hillary shirt) counting raised hands for Hillary.

That's how Democrats do it. "Eligible caucus goers divide to form Presidential preference groups. If a preference group for a candidate does not have enough people to be considered "viable," a threshold set at the beginning of the night, eligible attendees will have an opportunity to join another preference group or acquire people into their group to become viable. Delegates are then awarded to the preference groups based on their size." - http://iowademocrats.org/about-iowa-caucuses/

The Iowa Republican precinct caucus has a secret ballot. We vote once.
