Trump: I'll work with Democrats
The Hill ^ | 26 Jan 16 | Jesse Byrnes

Posted on 01/26/2016 9:45:02 AM PST by elhombrelibre

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is stressing his bona fides as a dealmaker who'd be able to enter the White House and work with congressional Democrats to hammer out agreements.

"I think I'm going to be able to get along with Pelosi — I've always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi," Trump said Tuesday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," referring to the House minority leader.

"Reid's going to be gone. I've always had a decent relationship with Reid," Trump said, referring to Harry Reid (D-Nev.), the Senate minority leader. "I always had a great relationship with Harry Reid."

Trump said he thought he'd get along with "just about everybody," including Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), likely to be the next Senate Democratic leader, who Trump said he was "close to ... in many in ways."

On the surface it’s troubling, unless you know Trump the businessman. When Trump says he’ll “work with someone,” it’s on his terms and as a winner. The Dems have never encountered a winner. All our guys lose.

The undercurrent here is subtle, and Cruzers/Trump haters will not like it, but it has to be understood in the context of Trump’s “deal making” . . . except he wins in his deals.

You have worked with and donated to Marxist Democrats all your life, Donald. Why should you stop as President? I give you credit for a rare moment of honesty!

He’s not going to have a choice. Deals will have to be made to get this country back on track. The trick will be keeping the important stuff off the table. There are obviously things that can’t be part of any deal.

Democrats won’t work with him.

This is not Tip O’Neill’s Democrat Party.
They are hard-core and thoroughly Alinskyized.

Trump is more like Wendell Wilkie than any former Republican candidate I can find. Turns out that Wilkie was more a progressive than FDR, a real one-worlder.To be expected, of course, he was a Democrat before he was a Republican.

Win or lose, my biggest fear with Trump as the POTUS is what I'll work with Democrats actually means when the time comes. A sensible person, whether a die-hard Trump supporter or not, should harbor the same fear.

This is a good thing? Are there any non-negotiable principles, in your opinion? Why *should* Cruz “work with” sell-out Republicans if they are joining Democrats in fleecing future generations and destroying our nation? Please explain!

It's called schmoozing them for the win. A concept that is not understood by some. Under those smiles is political maneuvering getting the agenda done. Trump v. Pelosi - no contest.

You ignore Trump's biography, his core values, and his real character. Here he is in his own words.
