I don’t know if that is true in Falwell’s case. He said he has known Trump for years.
In his introduction of Trump he stressed some of the charitable things Trump has done with, no fanfare, and said the families have been friends for years.

I hate that pastors are muzzled when it comes to the political realm, but what Cruz is doing, if he’s saying to tell them to vote for him, is basically telling these pastors to harm themselves and their flocks in order to get elected.

Hah! I am vindicated. I had a lengthy back-and-forth with a poster who shall remain nameless a couple of days ago. Nameless insisted that Falwell had not endorsed Trump. Technically, he was correct, as Falwell stopped short of an actual Trump endorsement.
But in reality Falwell did indeed endorse Trump by what he said and how he said it. And now Falwell has made it official.
On to Iowa!!
