While he's not making an official endorsement for the presidency in 2016's GOP primary, at least not yet, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) is calling on the people of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina to very carefully pick a candidate they think can "negotiate better" when it comes to trade deals.
He laid out the case for why Republicans must nominate a candidate who opposes the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the accompanying two global trade deals that would come with it: The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-TIP) and the Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA). All three deals, along with the fast-track Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) that greases the skids for the eventual easy passage through Congress of each of the deals since TPA lowers the Senate's 60-vote threshold to just 51 votes and kills the ability for amendments, have become collectively known as "Obamatrade."
Since the passage of TPAâduring which time the text of TPP was kept in a hidden basement classified reading room in the U.S. Capitol where only members of Congress could go to see it in person, without taking notes or copies of the text with themâin 2015, TPP has been on hold.
T-TIP and TiSA text, save for a leak of draft TiSA materials to WikiLeaks, have been unavailable even to members of Congress never mind the public. President Barack Obama's administration has since released the full text of TPP - which is 5,544 pages long - but the administration is holding the deal back for now, presumably waiting to formally introduce ratification legislation to Congress until a time frame that would allow them to time it so that a vote in Congress would come up during a lame duck session after the November 2016 elections.

That month long campaign by Cruz for TPA and his vote for it will shortly be explained away by Cruz supporters, who will turn it into proof that he won’t make deals with the Establishment.
Of course, he’s not going to say it, but he’s telegraphing/ hinting who he thinks is the best candidate for president.
Can anyone honestly see Ted Cruz as a successful negotiator?
The Art of The Deal vs lobbying for/ enabling TPP.
Or we can elect Trump, who will scrap them all (which frankly is what America wants at this point)
What BS. The trade deals are made by lobbyists and Congress can’t even see them. That’s what has to be changed plus do a job impact study.
Exactly. Something that Obama wants, and wants it without a reading, it’s obviously bad. Why did Ted Cruz vote ‘YES’ on the procedural vote to let it through? Cruz knew exactly what he was doing. .......... and I’ll say it again... when George Soros says “Don’t vote for Donald Trump”... vote for Donald Trump. The George Soros Presidential Selector Device is the best way to choose, every time, guaranteed.
Yep!
Trump isn’t saying it directly, but I would bet that this was a big part of what prompted him to run for president. ENOUGH! NO MORE!
We can elect him president & he will do what is *within his power* to do, but it is up to us- We the peasants (as someone so aptly put it earlier) to inform as many people as we come in contact with & vote them out of office- even if that means voting for some rank stranger out of the phone book. In the meantime, we can cause them enough grief that they will do our bidding at least some of the time. (We killed amnesty in 2007. I believe we could have killed 0bamacare, but the democrats had the majority. NOT ONE republican voted ‘aye’’.)
Trump has proven that it doesn’t take billions/ millions & a huge infrastructure to run for office.
